Milestone in Thailand KIAsias works under National Mirror

Committee and TISIs support on ISO26000 initiatives in 2007

With a support of National MirrorCommittee and TISIs A study on SR

practices of organization in Thailandwas Implemented

by KIAsia.

Activities in the program:

1) Translation of the third working draft of the ISO 26000

International Standard on Social Responsibility.

2) Conduct a study: methodology is three-fold, including

2.1 a survey on socially responsible practices,

2.2 an in-dept case study on the socially responsible best

practices of selected organizations, and

2.3 a focus group meeting of stakeholders from six groups:

government agencies, business/Industry, NGOs,

Consumer associations, Labor associations and

organizations involved in service, support and other.

Results:A total of 138 representatives participated in the

survey,12 organizations participated in the in-depth casestudy,

and 34 representatives participated in the focusgroup.

Outputs:Draft ISO 26000 version 3 in Thai language. Thisversion was further developed as CSR-DIW byDepartment of Industrial Works for industrialsector in Thailand to build awareness and used asguideline for implementation.

Seminar for Senior Officers of the Department of Labour Protection and

Welfare, Ministry of Labour on the topic of Management System of The Thai

Labour Standard (TSL 8001-2003) and Thai Corporate Responsibility with ISO

26000 Requirementwas organized by Department of Labour Protection

And Welfare, Ministry of Labour.

Topic on ISO 26000 (3 hours):

ISO 26000 Development Process (update information), Why ISO 26000

Important?, What will ISO 26000 Contains?, How will ISO relate to Thai

Labour Standard (TSL 8001-2003)?, What will ISO 26000 Impact International

Society?, When will ISO 26000 be ready?.

Sharing Experiences:

Invited to attend and sharing experiences on ISO 26000

development process, activities and stakeholder involvement

at The ISO Twinning Arrangement(Raising awareness and

Capacity of development countries).

The seminar was organized by Thai Industrial Standards

Institute (TISI), the number of participants approximately 150

persons from 6 stakeholders and mainly Trades, Industries,

Services, Consumers, NGOs and SSRO etc.
