Responsibility established in December 2007 initiative of the Ministry of Economy composed of17 membersfrom all stakeholders

including: business associations, government bodies,

employers organisations, labour unions, consumer

organization, education institutions and experts, media,1

representative from ISRMand others

The missionof the Coordination Body for social

responsibility is to mobilize businesses and all interested

parties to incorporate social responsibility as a key

strategy in their operation.

Institute for Standardization as a nationalstandardization bodies is a member of theNational Coordination Body for socialresponsibility thru which encourages andpromotes the use of standard ISO 26000

From the very beginning of the creation of ISO26000- Guide for Social Responsibility isannounced and promoted to a wide audience atthe annual meetings of ISRM (2007,2008 and2009).

Public enquiry on draft version of ISO 26000was published on the website of ISRM and theMinistry of Economy, which resulted innumerous comments from consumerorganizations, chamber of commerce, NGOs .

Lack of knowledge and understanding of SR Lack of expertise with companies already involved

and willing to work on socially responsible manner

Unpredictable business climate, the businessclimate instability affects the introduction of the

concept of social responsibility. In the periodwhen companies are struggling for existence anddifficulties in achieving profit, have set otherpriorities, and the concept of SR is not one ofthem.

Low level of awareness and poor exercise ofconsumer rights and lack of activism amongconsumers;
