Dimanche dernier, saint Marc a parlé du divorce au masculin et au féminin. Comme un cinéaste

très conscient de ses images, il adopte ici encore un langage inclusif: eis, quelqu'un. Cette

personne représente tout être humain. On peut l'appeler Jeanne, Sylvie, Jean-François, Simon

ou Karine. Puisqu'elle reconnaît en Jésus le Messie et le Fils de Dieu, elle se prosterne devant

lui: “Bon Maître, que dois-je faire pour avoir en héritage la vie éternelle?” Ici comme dans le

texte du 31 août (Marc 7, 21-22), Jésus ne retient parmi les commandements que ce qui touche

les relations humaines: c'est dans l'attention aux autres que s'exercera l'amour de Dieu. Cette

personne qui a reconnu le Messie a réussi à tout observer parfaitement depuis sa jeunesse.

Jésus pose sur elle son regard, et il l'aime. “Tu veux la perfection? Alors vends tout ce que tu as

et viens avec moi.” En citant cette phrase, on a souvent parlé d'un état de perfection. Mais est-

ce bien un appel à la vie consacrée? Dans le sermon sur la montagne, Jésus propose la même

perfection à tous ses disciples: “Soyez parfaits comme votre Père céleste est parfait!” Ce qu'il

demande n'est rien de moins que l'impossible! L'évangéliste pense sans doute à la Genèse 18,

14: “Y a-t-il rien de trop merveilleux pour Yahvé?” “Puis viens. Suis-moi.” L'image est difficile à

saisir. En examinant le texte initial, on voit le mouvement comme dans un film, tel que saint

Marc l'a décrit. Si c'était de marcher derrière Jésus, ou de le suivre, il faudrait l'imaginer devant

nous, indiquant le chemin. Cette image se trouve ailleurs dans l'évangile. Mais ce n'est pas celle

d'aujourd'hui. Ce que le lectionnaire a traduit par viens est un adverbe d'incitation qui veut dire:

allons! D'autre part, akolouthéô est un verbe d'accompagnement qui se traduirait mieux par:

viens avec moi.(6) Cette invitation est au coeur de l'évangile; elle s'adresse à toute personne qui

veut devenir disciple de Jésus.
