Las artes en la educación.

En los contextos académicos de hoy, una población estudiantil, tan rápida, dinámica y digital, nos deben llevar a nosotros como artistas y pedagogos, a una reflexión profunda en torno a la construcción colectiva ya nombrada por otros como realidad. Es decir cual es el rol de las artes en la construcción social de la cultura, de la realidad, de nuestras sociedades. El arte va más allá de la obra, el museo y la galería; hoy las artes deben abrir sus puertas a todo el pueblo, a toda la ciudadanía para lograr un desarrollo significativo en la reinvención del ser humano. Este nuevo hombre y esta nueva mujer deben poder trabajar imaginarios donde se valore y se reconozca la diversidad cultural como principio fundamental. Por esta razón es de vital importancia que se elaboren políticas, planes, programas y proyectos donde sea la educación artística el hilo conductor, por su transversalidad, por su inclusión, por su poder de educar en el cambio, en el pensamiento creativo y reflexivo, en el conocimiento propio y en el entendimiento de la integralidad del ser humano.

The Project

The expressive languages of children, the artistic language of Alberto Burri.

 

The intrinsic structure of the expressive languages is such that they are able to maintain a strong connection between rationality and imagination, cognitivity and sensitivity. They thus become the most effective antibodies to violence and the most conducive means for listening to other and the world.

Like other expressive languages, the visual language is a gift that belongs to every man and woman right from the birth, and it evolves and is nurtured by favorable cultural contexts.

The work of artists offer food for thought and for the imagination, but in working with children the primary focus is, and must always remain, the children themselves, with their own strategies of thought, their knowledge-building processes, and their relationships.

So what we need to seek out and apply when working with the children are some of the processes involved in the creative act, such as synthesis, exploratory tension, the intense relationship whit thins, symbolic invention, metaphor, evocation and analogy, cultural courage, and expressivity.

The teacher´s role is to be a competent listener to the visual language and to the children´s individual and group strategies in order to support the children in a way that is in tune with their autonomous expression.
