SANTIAGO – Los 33 mineros que fueron rescatados de la Mina San José en Chile fueron recibidos como héroes en el Palacio de La Moneda.
La ceremonia de homenaje, realizada la mañana del 25 de octubre, fue encabezada por el presidente Sebastián Piñera y a ella acudieron el gabinete en pleno, familiares, médicos, operarios y socorristas que participaron en la misión de rescate.
Piñera entregó a cada uno de ellos una medalla del bicentenario de la independencia chilena y una réplica en miniatura de la cápsula Fénix 2, el vehículo que fue utilizado para llevarlos a la superficie.
Los mineros también recibieron una bandera chilena y Carlos Mamani, originario de Bolivia, recibió una bandera de su país.
Ellos fueron homenajeados en el orden en que salieron de la mina.
Durante la ceremonia el presidente dijo a los mineros que “Ustedes nos han enseñado a valorar lo que realmente importa”, poniéndolos como ejemplo de coraje, además de que anunció un nuevo trato a los trabajadores para aumentar los niveles de seguridad en todas las áreas de trabajo.
“No vamos a dejar nunca más a ningún chileno atrás, porque aprendimos una lección”, señaló Piñera.
A nombre de los mineros tomó la palabra Luis Urzúa, jefe de turno y el último en ser rescatado. “Gracias a Chile y a todo el pueblo que oraron por nosotros. Estamos totalmente agradecidos de todos ustedes, de todos los que lucharon por nosotros. Fue algo que no nos imaginábamos. Gracias a Dios estamos libres y la minería ha quedado en un lugar muy alto”, señaló Urzúa.
Después de la ceremonia los mineros y los rescatistas se dirigieron al Estadio Nacional, donde se disputó un encuentro de
futbol entre los mineros y el equipo de rescate, formado por autoridades y socorristas, incluyendo el presidente Piñera.
El primer gol del partido lo anotó Franklin Lobos, quien fuera
futbolista profesional antes de trabajar como minero.
El partido terminó con un marcador final de 3 a 2, ganando el equipo del gobierno.

Miners visit presidential palace, play soccer with President Piñera

SANTIAGO – The 33 Chilean miners who were rescued from the San Jose Mine earlier this month were received like heroes at La Moneda Presidential Palace.
The ceremony took place the morning of Oct. 25, and it was headed by President Sebastian Piñera. Also in attendance were the full cabinet, relatives of the miners, doctors, technicians and rescue workers who participated in the rescue mission.
Piñera gave each one of the
miners a medal in celebration of Chile’s Bicentennial and a miniature reproduction of the Fenix 2 capsule, used to bring them to the surface.
The miners also received a Chilean flag, and Carlos Mamani, the miner from Bolivia, received a flag from his country.
They received their tokens of appreciation in the order they exited the mine.
During the ceremony Piñera told the miners “You have taught us to give value to what’s really important,” and set them as examples of courage. Piñera also announced
workers will be treated differently and security standards will change in all areas.
“We won’t leave any Chileans behind, because we learned our lesson,” Piñera said.
Shift supervisor and the last miner rescued Luis Urzua spoke on behalf of the 33 miners.
“Thanks to Chile and to all the people who prayed for us. We are truly thankful for all of you, for all that fought for us. It was something we didn’t imagine. Thank God we are free and mining is in a prominent place,” Urzua said.
After the ceremony miners and members of the rescue team went to the National Stadium, where they played a friendly soccer match. One team was formed by the miners and the other by rescue workers and government officials, including the president.
The first goal was scored by Franklin Lobos, who was a professional soccer player before going into mining.
The match ended with the victory of the government officials by a score of 3 to 2.
Former President Kirchner dies

bUENOS AIRES – Former President Nestor Kirchner of Argentina died suddenly Oct. 27 in the southern city of El Calafate.
Kirchner, 60, was at the family home along with his wife, current Argentina President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, to be counted in the National Census.
The former president felt ill in the early morning hours of Oct. 27 and was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for a cardiac problem. He died of a heart attack.
His remains were transported to Buenos Aires late Oct. 27 and the wake took place at Casa Rosada presidential palace. People gathered there to offer support to their president. “Be strong, Mrs. President!” said a message left on the fence of the presidential palace.
Kirchner was a favorite to run for president in the October 2011 presidential elections. According to some analysts, his death increases the possibility that Fernandez will seek reelection. The current president had higher approval ratings than her late husband.
Fernandez and Kirchner had two children, Maximo, 32, and Florencia, 19.
Several South American presidents attended the funeral services for Kirchner, including those from Chile, Bolivia, Brazil and Venezuela.

bUENOS AIRES – El ex presidente argentino Néstor Kirchner falleció de forma repentina el 27 de octubre en la ciudad de El Calafate, al sur del país.
Kirchner, de 60 años, se encontraba en esa ciudad acompañado por su esposa, la presidenta Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, para ser contados en el censo nacional.
El ex presidente comenzó a sentir malestares la madrugada del 27 de octubre y fue trasladado a un hospital de al localidad, donde fue internado por una afección cardiaca. El político falleció de un ataque al corazón.
Sus restos fueron trasportados a Buenos Aires la noche del 27 de octubre y fueron velados en el palacio presidencial Casa Rosada. Hasta ahí llegó la gente para dejar mensajes de aliento. “¡Fuerza sra. Presidenta!”, decía uno de los letreros colocados en la verja de la casa de gobierno.
Kirchner era favorito para buscar regresar a la presidencia de su país en las elecciones que se realizarán en octubre de 2011. De acuerdo a analistas, su muerte aumenta las posibilidades de que Fernández busque reelegirse. La actual presidenta ha tenido más aceptación entre la gente que su esposo.
Fernández y Kirchner tienen dos hijos, Máximo de 32 años y Florencia de 19.
Al funeral del ex mandatario ya han confirmado su presencia los mandatarios de Chile, Bolivia, Brasil y Venezuela.

Hombre intenta matar a custodio en cárcel de Aurora

AURORA – Un hombre de 45 años ha sido acusado de intento de asesinato, después de pelear con un Técnico de Detención en Corte de la Policía de Aurora, mejor conocidos como oficiales
de correccionales, durante un intento de fuga la madrugada del 24 de octubre.Homero Morales, de la cuadra 500 de Parker Avenue, también fue acusado de
intento de fuga, agresión agravada a un empleado de correccionales y agresión agravada, después del incidente que sucedió alrededor de las 2:45 a.m. del 24 de octubre en la cárcel de la Policía de Aurora, localizada en el 1200 E. Indian Trail Rd.
Los documentos de acusación indican que Morales, quien estaba esposado con los brazos al frente de su cuerpo, aparentemente sometió al oficial de correccionales de 52 años durante el proceso de fianza. Después de zafarse del oficial, Morales empujó y abrió una puerta a un vestíbulo, donde se dio la pelea. Morales pudo salir del edificio, pero fue tacleado por el oficial de correccionales. Man charged with attempted murder at police lockup

AURORA – A 45 year old Aurora man has been charged with attempted murder after he fought with an Aurora Police Court Detention Technician, also known as corrections officers, during an escape attempt early Oct. 24.
Homero Morales of the 500 block of Parker Avenue was also charged with attempted escape, aggravated battery to a corrections employee, and aggravated battery, after the 2:45 a.m. incident at the Aurora Police lockup, 1200 East Indian Trail Road.
Charging documents indicate that Morales, who was handcuffed in front of his body, allegedly overpowered the 52 year old corrections officer during the bonding process. After breaking away from the officer, he pushed a door open to a vestibule area where a fight ensued. Morales then made his way out of the building only to be tackled by the corrections officer. While the two were on the ground Morales used the chain links from the handcuffs and attempted to choke the officer. Several Aurora Police officers then came to the aid of the corrections officer and took Morales into custody.
The corrections officer was treated and released from an Aurora hospital for a broken thumb and numerous lacerations and contusions. Morales was also treated and released for cuts and scrapes.
Morales was transferred to the Kane County Correctional Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
Tornados afectan condados de Kane, Will

El Servicio Nacional del Clima confirmó que dos tornados, uno en el área de Elburn en el condado de Kane y otro cerca de Peotone en el Condado de Hill, tocaron tierra el 26 de
octubre, durante el periodo de mal tiempo que se registró en el área durante esta semana.
El Servicio Nacional del Clima dijo que uno de los tornados tocó tierra alrededor de dos millas al noroeste de Elburn en el Condado de Kane, alrededor de las 6:55 a.m.
El tornado causó daños por un tramo de tres cuartas partes de milla y destruyó dos graneros y un almacenaje de granos.
El tornado en el Condado de Will arrancó el techo de una casa e hirió levemente a dos adolescentes.

Tornado hits Will, Kane counties

The National Weather Service confirmed that two tornadoes touched down in the Chicago area, one in Elburn and the second near Peotone in Will County on Oct. 26, during the spell of bad weather we had earlier this week.
The National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado touched down about two miles northwest of Elburn in Kane County, at about 6:55 a.m.
The tornado’s path was about three-quarters of a mile and it destroyed two barns and a grain bin.
The Will County tornado ripped off the roof of a home and slightly injured two teenage boys.
According to the National Weather Service, the tornado’s path was about a mile long and 200 yards wide and was listed as a category EF2, which is powerful enough to shift homes off their foundations, uproot trees and lift cars off the ground.
The tornado hit at about 7:30 a.m. and tore the roof off a two-story home. A 16 year-old said he was standing on the porch of the home and was pulled back into the house through a glass door. The young man had a cut on his face and required stitches on one of his fingers.
Throughout the area the combination of rain and wind caused old trees to come down, snapping power and telephone lines and causing damages to vehicles and homes.

ELGIN – An Elgin man has been charged in connection with a drag race that left a 19
year-old man dead.The Kane County Sheriff’s Department issued an arrest for Daniel Mondragon, 22, of the
2300 block of Vineyard Court, on one Class 4 felony count of aggravated street racing.The drag race and crash occurred at about 9:25 p.m. July 15 on Route 25 near Albert
Drive, between Elgin and East Dundee.Police said Mondragon allegedly was racing his car against Omar Medrano, of the 600
block of Mariner Drive, when Medrano’s car flipped over as he hit the brakes to avoid hitting another car.
Medrano’s vehicle went off the road and hit a concrete barrier, causing it to flip. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.Mondragon is expected to turn himself in to authorities. His bail has been set at $50,000.
If convicted he faces up to three years in prison.

ELGIN – Un hombre de Elgin ha sido acusado de participar en una carrera de arrincones en la que murió un joven de 19 años de edad.

Man faces prison for 17th driving on a revoked license violation

AURORA – An Aurora man who has not had a valid driver’s license since 1996 faces several years in prison after being convicted for driving on a revoked license (DWLR.)
Michael L. Diaz, 34, of the 200 block of Oakhurst Drive in Aurora, was convicted on one count of DWLR, a class 2 felony because of his numerous prior offenses for the same charge.
On Sept. 29, 2009 Aurora police were investigating a report of a hit-and-run crash, and went to the home of the registered owner of the car. The owner told police that she had loaned the car to Diaz, her boyfriend. Within an hour police located the vehicle in question with Diaz driving it.
At the time of the offense Diaz was on probation for a 2006 conviction for aggravated domestic battery, a class 2 felony, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a class 4 felony.
Because the DWLR conviction was a probation violation, Diaz faces resentencing for the 2006 convictions.
Diaz faces a sentence of between three and 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. He will be sentenced Dec. 2; meanwhile he is free on bond.

AURORA – Un hombre de Aurora que no ha tenido una licencia de manejo válida desde 1996 enfrenta una sentencia de varios años en prisión, después de ser encontrado culpable por 17ª. vez de manejar con la licencia revocada.
Michael L. Díaz, de 34 años de edad y residente de la cuadra 200 de Oakhurst Drive en Aurora, fue encontrado culpable de un cargo de manejar con una licencia revocada, que en este caso es una felonía por el número de veces que ha sido encontrado culpable del mismo cargo.
El 29 de septiembre de 2009 la policía de Aurora se encontraba investigando un reporte de un choque en el que el responsable huyó, por lo que fueron a la casa del dueño del vehículo. La dueña dijo a la policía que ella le había prestado el auto a Díaz, su novio. La policía de inmediato localizó el automóvil y Díaz estaba al volante.
En ese tiempo Díaz se encontraba en probatoria por una convicción del año 2006 por agresión doméstica agravada, una felonía clase 2, y por posesión ilegal de una sustancia controlada, una felonía clase 4. Como fue encontrado culpable de manejar con la licencia revocada, Díaz ahora va a ser sentenciado de nuevo por sus crímenes del año 2006, ya que está en violación de su probatoria.
Díaz puede ser sentenciado a pasar entre 3 y 30 años de cárcel. Su sentencia será dictada el 2 de diciembre. Él se encuentra libre bajo fianza.

NORTh AURORA – Un juez del Condado de Kane fijó en 50 mil dólares la fianza de un hombre, acusado de embestir con su automóvil a dos peatones la madrugada el 25 de octubre, matando a uno e hiriendo al otro. El hombre huyó de lugar del accidente.
El hombre en cuestión es Lee Roy Patterson, de 30 años de edad y residente de la cuadra 1000 de Assell Avenue en Aurora. Él está acusado de dos cargos de dejar la escena de un accidente donde hay heridos o muertos y un cargo de no reducir la velocidad.
De acuerdo a las autoridades de North Aurora, la policía respondió a un reporte de un accidente de tránsito y encontró a las víctimas en el área de la cuadra 0-99 de South Grant
Street alrededor de las 2 de la mañana del 25 de octubre.
La investigación preliminar de las autoridades indicó que Doreen L. Cárdenas, de Cicero, y Pedro A. NORTh AURORA – A Kane County judge set bail at $50,000 for a man charged with striking two pedestrians with his car in the early morning hours of Oct. 25. One of the pedestrian died and the other was injured. The man left the scene of the accident.
The man is Lee Roy Patterson, 30, of the 1000 block of Assell Avenue in Aurora. He is charged with two counts of leaving the scene of an accident involving injury or death and one count of failure to reduce speed.
According to North Aurora officers, police responded to a report of a traffic crash and
found the victims in the 0-99 block of South Grant Street at about 2 a.m. Oct. 25.
A preliminary investigation indicated that Doreen L. Cardenas of Cicero and Pedro A. Navarro of North Aurora, both 22 years old, were standing near Cardenas’ vehicle when Patterson’s vehicle sideswiped the car, striking them both.
Cardenas and Navarro were taken to a local hospital, where Cardenas died and Navarro is in stable condition.
Patterson turned himself to authorities about three hours after the accident. He is being held at the Kane County jail. His next court date is Nov. 12.

dEKALb – La desaparición de una joven de 18 años ha sido clasificada como un homicidio por la policía de DeKalb.
Antinette “Toni” Keller desapareció el 14 de octubre, cuando le dijo a sus amigos que iba a ir a caminar a Prairie Park cerca del campus de la Universidad del Norte de Illinois, donde ella era estudiante de primer año de arte.
La joven de 18 años, originaria de Plainfield, desapareció y se realizó una intensa búsqueda por toda el área para dar con su paradero.
Ahora las autoridades creen que la joven fue asesinada y su cuerpo quemado en un parque aislado cerca de la universidad.
Durante una conferencia de prensa el 26 de octubre, autoridades del Condado de DeKalb dijeron que habían encontrado restos humanos en el parque, y que estos probablemente son de Keller. Algunos artículos pertenecientes a la joven fueron encontrados en el área cerca de los restos humanos. Los restos fueron encontrados por la policía una semana antes de hacer esta información pública, ya que deseaban confirmar que eran restos humanos antes de informar al público.

dEKALb – DeKalb police has reclassified the case of a missing 18 year-old Northern Illinois University student as a homicide investigation.
Antinette “Toni” Keller went missing Oct. 14, when she told her friends she was going for a walk at Prairie Park, near the NIU campus, where she was a freshman art student.
The 18 year-old woman, from Plainfield, disappeared and an intense search for her was launched in the area.
Now authorities believe the woman was killed and her body set on fire in the isolated park near the university.
During an Oct. 26 press conference, DeKalb County authorities said they had found human remains at the part and that probably they were Keller’s. Some items belonging to the art student where found nearby. While the remains were found a week earlier, authorities didn’t reveal the information until they determined the remains were human.
Because the remains were set on fire, an autopsy couldn’t help identify the victim and now authorities are waiting for other results to positively identify the remains.
Bill Fiethen, DeKalb Police Chief, said he believed this was an isolated incident, but didn’t give more information. Police don’t have anybody in custody.
Meanwhile, members of the university community and the city of DeKalb are upset because authorities are withholding information that they can use to take precautions and protect themselves.
University officials have increased campus security and dorms are on lockdown earlier than usual. There is more police presence on campus and the bus service runs on an extended schedule.
Authorities are asking anybody with information about the case, in particular about fires at Prairie Park around the time Keller went missing, to call (815) 753-8477 or the DeKalb Major Case Squad at (815) 895-3272.

ChICAGO – Researchers with the Rush University Medical Center and the Cook County Department of Public Health have found that the incidence of bacteria that cause infections with high mortality rates and are resistant to the most commonly used antibiotics are on the rise.
KPC or Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase is a type of antibiotic resistant bacteria that is a variant of Klebsiella pneumoniae, common bacteria that naturally live on the skin and in the mouth and
intestines and can cause pneumonia and urinary tract infections.
The first report of the bacteria in Chicago was in 2007.
The report said that in a survey of Chicago-area healthcare facilities between 2009 and 2010, the number of healthcare facilities in Chicago that reported infections with the bacteria increased by 30 percent, and the number of patients who tested positive for the bacteria nearly tripled.
“KPC-producing bacteria are a common type of bacterium that has evolved into a dangerous source of infection and a major
challenge for infection control,” said Dr. Mary Hayden, director of clinical microbiology and associate professor of infectious diseases and pathology at Rush University Medical Center. “Infections due to these bacteria are difficult to treat because most strains are resistant to the majority of our usual antibiotics. Some strains are resistant to all drugs.”
Hayden and her colleagues found that 75 percent or more of the patients who tested positive for the bacterium had been in a long-term care facility, such as a nursing home.

Cd. JUAREZ – Fourteen people died in Juarez during a shooting rampage at a party, leaving several people wounded.
The incident took place late Oct. 22, when a group of people were celebrating the 15th birthday of a young man in two homes located in the Horizontes del Sur neighborhood.
The party was interrupted when a young man of about 20 years old arrived at the home and, yelling, asked for the owner of a car that was parked outside.
Because nobody answered him, he asked a second time. When he didn’t get an answer, he pulled out a gun and started shooting.
Partygoers then tried to escape, but other shooters arrived and opened fire on the crowd.
In total, 14 people between 13 and 32 years old died in the attack, including six women and girls. Most of the victims were high school students. A total of 20 people were injured, including a 9 year-old boy.
Police found 70 bullet casings from assault weapons at the scene.
Authorities have said they are looking for one of the people injured at the party, a man identified only as ‘El Mouse’ or ‘El Raton’. Authorities said he was the target of the attack.
Neighbors who saw the men leaving their cars and entering the homes where the shooting took place said the men were heavily armed and looked very young.
“They were only teenagers, young men,” neighbors said.

informed that the bodies of two men, one of them decapitated, were found in Juarez, and police suspect they may have been behind the shooting rampage.
The bodies showed signs of torture, and their hands and feet were bound. A sign left with the bodies accused the men of killing women and children.
The two men appeared to be in their early 20s, something that coincides with accounts from some of the survivors, who described the shooters as young men.

El Servicio de Ciudadanía e Inmigración reconoció en un memo enviado a una organización de California que ellos vigilan las redes sociales en Internet, para detectar fraude en solicitudes de beneficios migratorios.
El memo indica que “Las redes sociales… dan la oportunidad de revelar fraude al visitar estos sitios para ver si los peticionarios y los beneficiarios tienen una relación válida o están intentando engañar (al Servicio de Ciudadanía e Inmigración de los Estados Unidos) sobre su relación”.
La Fundación Frontera Electrónica, un grupo que aboga por los derechos civiles con sede en San Francisco, recibió la información sobre cómo el servicio de inmigración usa las redes sociales para investigar las solicitudes de ciudadanía. Ellos lo recibieron por medio del Acta de Libertad e Información.
Mientras tanto, fuentes del Departamento de Seguridad Nacional dijeron que solamente ven la información pública disponible en sitios sociales que está relacionada con una persona que pide beneficios migratorios.

“El memo asume que el perfil en línea del usuario siempre refleja de forma correcta su vida fuera del Internet. Mientras que Facebook y MySpace quisieran que los perfiles de los usuarios fueran actuales y con información correcta, los usuarios pueden tener razones suficientes para mantener algo de su vida diaria fuera de su perfil en Internet (por ejemplo, muchos usuarios sienten que el estatus de sus relaciones personales es privado). The Citizenship and Immigration Services acknowledged in a memo sent to a California organization that they keep an eye on social networks to detect fraud in applications for immigration benefits.
The memo, states that “This social networking gives … an opportunity to reveal fraud by browsing these sites to see if petitioners and beneficiaries are in a valid relationship or are attempting to deceive [United States Citizen and Immigration Services] about their relationship.”
The Electronic Frontier Foundation, a San Francisco-based civil rights group, received the information about how the Immigration and Citizenship Services use social networks to investigate citizenship applications. They received the information through the Freedom of Information Act.
Sources with the Department of Homeland Security said that they only watch public information available in social sites that is related to a person asking for an immigration benefit.
But Maria Blanco, Director of the Warren Institute at the University of California-Berkeley, considers the government is going too far.
She said this situation is similar to the post 911 actions in which phone companies would give call records to the government.
“This is very similar,” Blanco told Univision.com. “Basically the government has decided to go to these social sites, even though they are public, the same as a communication between to or ten people, to investigate without a judicial order and without a permit.”
She said she believed they are doing it following a racial profile, checking if the site is from Latin America or an Arab country.
A problem that comes out of this is the veracity of the information shared in social networks.
Blanco said in these sites people have the tendency to crack jokes and have a false identity.
A comment posted by Jennifer Link, Director of the Electronic Frontier Foundation, highlights the dangers of using information from social sites to make determinations on immigration issues.
“The memo assumes a user’s online profile always accurately reflects her offline life. While Facebook and MySpace would like their users’ profiles to always be current and accurate, users may have valid reasons for keeping some of their offline life out of their online profiles (for example, many users still feel their relationship status is private). Unfortunately, this memo suggests there’s nothing to prevent an exaggerated, harmless or even out-of-date off-hand comment in a status update from quickly becoming the subject of a full citizenship investigation.”

Cd. JUÁREZ – Catorce personas murieron en un tiroteo en Ciudad Juárez durante una fiesta, resultando varias personas heridas.
El incidente sucedió la noche del 22 de octubre, cuando un grupo de personas estaban celebrando los 15 años de un jovencito en dos casas de la colonia Horizontes del Sur.
La fiesta fue interrumpida cuando un joven de aproximadamente 20 años de edad llegó y, gritando, preguntó por el dueño de un automóvil que estaba estacionado afuera.
Como nadie le contestó, preguntó de nuevo. Al no obtener respuesta, sacó una pistola y empezó a disparar.
Los asistentes a la fiesta intentaron escapar, pero otros pistoleros llegaron y abrieron fuego sobre la multitud.
En total 14 personas de entre los 13 y los 32 años de edad murieron en el tiroteo, incluyendo seis mujeres y niñas. La mayoría de las víctimas eran estudiantes de preparatoria. Un total de 20 personas resultaron heridas, incluyendo un niño de 9 años de edad.
La policía encontró 70 casquillos de rifles
de asalto en la escena del tiroteo.Autoridades dijeron que están buscando

El 26 de octubre autoridades informaron del hallazgo de los cuerpos de dos hombres, uno de ellos decapitado, en Juárez, y la policía sospecha que pudieron haber participado en la masacre del fin de semana.
Los cuerpos mostraban señales de tortura, estaban atados de manos y pies. Una nota que dejaron junto a los cuerpos decía que los hombres habían matado a mujeres y niños.
Los dos parecen tener alrededor de 20 años de edad, algo que coincide con la descripción de los pistoleros que dieron algunos de los sobrevivientes.

MExICO CITY – The irregular season that soccer player Adolfo Bautista has had may make him cross the border to play with Chivas USA.
He currently plays with Chivas in Mexico, but has been unnoticed in most games.
According to a sports column written by Scott French for ESPN Los Angeles, Bofo is the ideal candidate to reinforce Chivas USA in the next season.
“The best option (for Chivas USA) could be Adolfo Bautista, a colorful character whose combination of talent and strength could be good for the MLS,” French said. “The 31 year-old forward was in the bench during the World Cup and his career history with Chivas could be attractive for the market.”
Internet site Goal.com states that Bautista could move to the MLS because Chivas USA is going through a rough period.
“The team finished its worst season since 2005, the year they debuted in the MLS, and now seeks reinforcements to give more opportunity to its coach, Mexican-American Martin Vazquez,” the site says.

MONTERREY, MExICO – Alicia Villarreal, ‘La Jefa’ o ‘La Güerita Consentida’ de la música grupera, enfrenta problemas legales, ya que a causa de un despido injustificado hace siete años, ahora le embargaron su casa en una zona exclusiva de esta ciudad.
Villarreal fue embargada la tarde del 21 de octubre, después de que perdió una demanda entablada por su ex trabajador José Reyes hace siete años por despido injustificado.
Un contingente de elementos de la Policía Estatal llegó a la casa de la cantante y tocaron a la puerta. Como no les dieron entrada, forzaron la chapa del portón principal para entrar a la propiedad. Esta medida fue autorizada legalmente ya que en tres ocasiones anteriores habían acudido al lugar y no se les había atendido.
Una vez adentro, autoridades y el propio José Reyes procedieron a sacar artículos de valor para saldar el adeudo de tres millones de pesos.
Originalmente la demanda era por 30 mil pesos mexicanos (alrededor de 2 mil 500
dólares), pero con el paso de los años la cantidad fue aumentando.
Villarreal dijo no recordar si Reyes formaba parte de su equipo, pues en ese tiempo ella era parte de Límite y había una gran cantidad de personas trabajando para la agrupación.
“Es absurdo que un problema que al principio era grupal ahora recaiga únicamente en mis hombros. Estoy muy afectada”, dijo la cantante.
Ella indicó que el embargo de bienes se realizó en una propiedad que pertenece a su madre y no a ella. La madre de Villarreal, Martha Esparza, tuvo que ser hospitalizada a causa de una descompensación en los niveles de azúcar como consecuencia de este embargo.
En una entrevista que concedió a un canal de televisión local, Villarreal dijo que espera recuperar algunos de los bienes embargados, ya que pertenecen a su madre y a sus hermanos.
Durante la entrevista se le preguntó sobre una supuesta demanda que había puesto contra su esposo por llevarse a sus hijos sin permiso.

MONTERREY, MExICO – Alicia Villarreal, better known in the grupero music circles as ‘La Jefa’ or ‘La Guerita Consentida’, is facing legal problems after authorities seized several items from her home in an exclusive neighborhood in this city to pay damages to a former employee.
Villarreal lost a legal battle against a former employee, Jose Reyes, who filed a complaint saying he was fired without a reason seven years ago.
Officers arrived at her home Oct. 21 and when nobody let them in, they broke the lock and gained entrance to the residence. They were able to do this because they had been at that place three times before and nobody had answered the door.
Once inside authorities and Jose Valdez seized goods to cover the 3 million pesos the singer owed her former employee.
When the complaint was filed seven years ago, the man was seeking payment of $2,500,
but with time it increased to about $250,000.Villarreal said she couldn’t remember if
Reyes was part of her team, as at that time she was a member of a musical group named Limite and there were several people working for them.
“It’s illogical that a problem that in the beginning was related to the group now falls on my shoulders. I’m deeply affected by this,” she said.
Villarreal said that the items were seized from her mother’s home, not hers. Her mother, Martha Esparza, had to be taken to the hospital while authorities were still in the house, because of problems with her sugar levels.
During an interview at a local TV station, Villarreal said she is hopeful she will recover some of the items seized, because they belong to her mother and siblings.
While at the station Villarreal was questioned about an alleged complaint she had filed against her husband for taking their children away without her consent.
