OFFERING MASSES The Church considers the Mass to be the greatest prayer of intercession because it is the perfect offering of Christ to the Father. In the Sacrifice of the Mass, Christ makes really, actually present the Paschal Mystery of His Death and Resurrection. It is a longstanding tradition in the Church that a Priest may be requested to offer a Mass for a specific intention, even when one cannot be physically present at the Mass. The faithful make a free will offering, called a stipend, to a priest or Religious Community in order to apply the Mass to a specific intention. By making their offering, the faithful associate themselves more intimately with Christ who offers Himself, and obtain thereby more abundant fruits.
The offering of a stipend is also a means whereby a catholic may contribute to the upkeep of the priest, serving in a diocese or religious community. You may request a Mass in our parish: in honor of a saint, for the eternal rest of a soul, in thanksgiving to God for a specific favor or blessing, asking for the healing of a person, etc...
A Heartfelt Thank You to the French Prayer Group for their $1,000 donation to our parish from their pilgrimage to the Immaculate Conception Shrine in Washington DC on December 8th, 2018.

OFRECIMIENTO DE MISAS
La Iglesia considera que la Misa es la mejor oración de intercesión que se puede ofrecer porque es la ofrenda perfecta de Cristo al Padre. En el Sacrificio de la Misa, Cristo hace real y verdaderamente presente el Misterio Pascual de su Muerte y Resurección.
Es una tradición de mucho tiempo en la Iglesia que se le solicite a un sacerdote que ofrezca una Misa por una intención específica, incluso cuando uno no puede estar físicamente presente en la Misa.
Los fieles hacen una ofrenda voluntaria, llamada estipendio, a un sacerdote o a una comunidad religiosa para aplicar la Misa a una intención específica. Al hacer su ofrenda, los fieles se asocian más íntimamente con Cristo que se ofrece a Sí mismo, y de ese modo obtienen frutos más abundantes.
El dar un estipendio es también un medio por el cual un católico puede contribuir al sustento del sacerdote, quien sirve en una diócesis o en una comunidad religiosa.
Usted puede solicitar una Misa en nuestra parroquia: en honor a un santo, por el descanso eterno de un alma, en acción de gracias a Dios por un favor o una bendición específica, pidiendo la curación de una persona, etcétera.
