The Full Life Cycle: Cradle to CradleBegin the journey
Multiple Life Cycle studies haveconcluded that reconditionedpackaging has a lower carbon footprint than comparable newpackaging.
Offering a more sustainablepackage is not enough.
Customers want sustainableoptions – but what they reallywant is to lower their overallpackaging cost.

Research indicates positive associations between companies reporting using the GRI Framework and the following... • Inclusion in the DJSI North America Index• Inclusion in NASDAQ’s OMX CRD Global Sustainability Index• Higher Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Disclosure Scores• Higher Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Performance Scores• More favorable Glassdoor Ratings• More favorable CSRHub Rankings• Preferred placement in Brandlogic’s and CRD Analytics’ “Corporate Sustainability
IQ Matrix”• Higher Bloomberg ESG Disclosure Scores

Sustainability: a guiding value system
Headline from The KPMG Survey of CorporateResponsibility Reporting 2013:
Risk and opportunity needs to be linked to value
Sustainability is not a fading trend – it continues to increase in importance as a criteria for corporate policy and decision making. The more relevant focus: who pays for it? How does the business community link sustainability risks and opportunities to the bottom line.

31Capturing value: looking deeper
The community benefits:
• Customers using only new containers reduce spend by realizing a rebate
• Customers that use hybrid container options gain the benefit of blended pricing of new and used components which drive reduced costs,
• Customers that use only reconditioned containers ultimately enjoy the greatest savings
• All customers support the life cycle by returning used containers

It’s not the end of thejourney…
It’s the reason the cyclecontinues.

The Full Life Cycle: Cradle to CradleWhat really matters
Without the full life cycle overallpackaging cost would increasefor the entire community.
We extract value along every part of the journey.
Because Mauser serves the entire community, the entire community benefits.
