Here at Nómada Map, we're music lovers. Like all good music lovers, we have a soundtrack to accompan us every second of the day and radio stations that we're always tuned into. One of these stations is a project unique to this city; it was born from the love of music, and the desire to be able to choose just the right music for every occasion. It's called Radio Palmera, an online station where every day you can listen to a fantastic selection of artists from a variety of genres: dance, indie, alternative, classic, electronic, funk, etc.Responsible for this project is a good friend, Pablo Martinez, who has lived his whole life in San Cristóbal. He is a lover of design, concerts, illustration, and most definitely music. Radio Palmera is a success story that sets a precedent in this city; a project that is gaining personality and has been growing since its founding two years ago. Las obras de Fefe Talavera son metáforas de las emociones humanas y del subconsciente: la ira, el miedo, los sueños, los deseos. Sus monstruos de colores fantásticos se conectan con el “lado oscuro” haciendo referencia a las raíces culturales de la artista (Brasil - México) y a la energía primaria de su trabajo en las calles de todo el mundo.
Interesada en los movimientos ”underground”, la artista tiene una importante influencia del típico estilo de arte urbano de Sao Paulo. Trabajando el arte en la calle, Fefe despliega una energía creativa cruda con insinu-aciones tribales mayas y aztecas combinando el collage y la tipografía. La artista se hace conocer por sus bestias hechas de recortes de letras de carteles y después de haber expuesto y participado en proyec-tos en todo el mundo ( Moscú, Nueva York, Sevilla, Berlín, Basilea, Viena, Amsterdam…) llega a Montana Gallery Barcelona con la exposición Heart Breaker que combina instalaciones, dibujos en tinta china y fotografías que giran al rededor del corazón: de hielo, roto, lastimado pero que, al fin y al cabo, representa el amor.
The works of Fefe Talvera are metaphors of human emotions and the subconscious: anger, fear, dreams and desires. Her fantastically coloured monsters connect with the "dark side", making references to her Brazilian and Mexican roots, and to the energy of the streets she discovered working all over the world.
Interested in "underground" movements, this artist has an important influence on the style of urban art in Sao Paulo. Creating street art, Fefe displays a raw creative energy while blending Mayan and Aztec tribal influ-ences in collages and typography. She was initially known for creating beasts made out of letters cut from posters; after gaining exposure and participating in projects around the world (Moscow, New York, Seville, Berlin, Vienna, Amsterdam, and more), she arrived at Montana Gallery in Barcelona with her Heart Breaker exhi-bition. Heart Breaker combines installations, drawings in Indian Ink and photos that revolve around the central theme of "the heart"- of stone, broken, hurt, but in the end, representative of love.
