    Screen washer fluid levelAdd some fluid in the reservoir 1if necessary.

    Coolant levelThe level indicated on reservoir 2 should be be-tween MINand MAX.

    If it is necessary to top up this level, it is essential

    to do so when the engine is cold.

    Engine oil levelYou can view the oil level on the instrument panel:when the message test of control system appearson the instrument panel, press either button 3or 4.The oil level is displayed on the instrument panel.

    You must observe the service intervals and thestandards governing the oils tested for your engine.Refer to the Maintenance Service and Warrantydocument for your vehicle, and to Section 4 of thevehicle handbook for the precautions to take whenfilling with oil.

    Deactivating the front

    passenger air bag

    If you wish to fit a rear-facing child seat on thefront passenger seat, you must deactivate the air

    bag: with the vehicle stationary, turn switch 1to OFF.

    Indicator lightlights up on the central dis-play on the dashboard.

    Sockets for audio

    connection

    Depending on the version, you have the option toconnect all of your portable devices (USB key, MP3

    player, etc.) to your vehicle. Dedicated sockets 2are provided in the storage compartment under thecentral elbow rest.

    Refer to the instructions for the equipment for de-tails of the connections.

    Fold down the seatback

    from the luggage

    compartment

    The vehicle is fitted with a system that allows

    the seats to lay flat in one single operation. Pullhandle 1on the side to fold down.

    To return the seatback to its initial position, checkthat the seat belts are in the correct position andlift the seatback. Check that it is correctly locked.

    ISOFIX system

    Each rear side seat is fitted with ISOFIX child seatmounting system 2.

    Depending on the type of child seat used, installa-tion requires specific precautions.

    Refer to section 1, Child safety in your drivershandbook for special notes.

    Consult your RENAULT Dealer to find out about theequipment available for your vehicle.

    Ensure that nobody is near to the bench seatwhen you fold it down.

    Remember to remove anything on the rear benchseat.

    Parking distance control

    On equipped vehicles, the parking distance con-trol measures the distance between the rear and/or the front of the vehicle and any obstacles that

    are nearby.

    When approaching an obstacle during manoeuvres,the beeps become faster and then sound continu-ously when 25 cm from the obstacle.

    You can permanently deactivate the system andchange the volume (refer to Section 2 of your driv-ers handbook).

    Tyre inflation kit/

    emergency spare wheel

    Depending on the vehicle, in the event of a punc-ture, there is an emergency spare wheel or a tyre

    inflation kit. To access it, lift the luggage compart-ment carpet.

    Opening the tailgate

    Press button 1 located in the centre of the badgeon the tailgate. When the tailgate opens a little, liftit by placing your fingers underneath.

    Closing the tailgate

    Using one of the interior handles, lower the tail-gate.

    It will close under its own weight.

    REMOTE CONTROL RENAULT CARD VERSIONPress:

    to unlock;to lock;to switch the exterior lights on/off remotely(in order to find your vehicle in a car park for ex-ample);

    to lock/unlock the luggage compartmentonly.

    HANDS-FREE RENAULT CARD VERSIONWith the card on your person (you can leave it inyour pocket, bag etc.), in addition to the remotecontrol RENAULT card functions, the following arepossible:

    automatic unlocking by pulling a door handle; automatic locking when leaving the vehicle (a

    beep sounds) or intentional locking by pressingthe button on the drivers door handle.

    Note:if required, you can use the manual mode orthe key 2. To release the key, press button 1.

    Never leave the RENAULT card in the vehicle

    Locking/unlocking the

    vehicle

    The RENAULT card system replaces the tradi-tional key. Locking/unlocking the vehicle is simple:

    whether from a distance or nearby, a single pressis required.

    SPECIAL FEATURES The detection zone of the card, necessary for

    locking and unlocking the vehicle, depends onthe surrounding environment or the location ofthe card;

    for vehicles equipped with deadlocking,two successive presses on this button stop thevehicle from being opened, even from the insideand, depending on the vehicle, the windows areclosed.

    NOTEIn all situations:

    Two flashes of the direction indicator lights con-firm locking;

    one flash of the direction indicator lights con-firms unlocking.

    After locking/unlocking the vehicle or the tailgateonly using the buttons on the RENAULT card,remote locking and unlocking in hands-freemode are deactivated.

    To reactivate the hands-free mode: restart thevehicle.

    Starting the engineWith the remote control RENAULT card in reader 2or the hands-free RENAULT card in the passengercompartment (excluding certain high locationssuch as the sun visor, etc.) apply the followingstarting conditions:MANUAL GEARBOX

    With the gear lever in neutral, press button 1.AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONWith the lever in position P, press button 1.Note: for vehicles fitted with the RENAULT hands-free card, the brake pedal must be depressed toallow the engine to be started.

    Stopping the engineWith the vehicle stationary, press button 1.

    Accessing functionsOnce you have gained access to your vehicle, youmay use some of its functions (radio, navigation,wipers, etc.).Depending on the case, these functions will switch

    off at the latest when the vehicle is locked.

    Vehicle settings

    personalisation menuCertain functions (parking distance control etc.)can be adjusted from the trip computer and warn-ing system. To access this menu, with the vehiclestopped:

    press button 3or 4several times until the mes-sage settings menu: long press appears,

    hold down button 3or 4until the message set-tings menu appears,

    press button 3or 4repeatedly until you find the

    function you wish to modify.

    To exit the menu: press 3once or more to select Back or Exit; press and hold 3to confirm; repeat the operation if necessary.

    immediately, for your own safety, as soon astraffic conditions allow. Stop your engine anddo not restart it. Contact an approved Dealer.

    this means you should dr ive verycarefully to an approved Dealer as soon as pos-sible. You risk damaging your vehicle If youkeep driving after this warning light has comeon.

    Distance before service:

    The vehicle is fitted with a system that moni-tors the condition of the engine oil. This systemadapts the distance before service in real timeaccording to the vehicles conditions of use.

    In all cases, an initial message service duein... along with the remaining distance noti-fies you of when the next service will be due.Later, if necessary, the message service ve-hicle requires that the vehicle be serviced assoon as possible.

    Aiding fuel economy:For vehicles fitted with a manual gearbox, thisfunction indicates the best time to change gearto optimise fuel consumption.

    3Seat belt reminders:

    driver or front passenger seat belt notbuckled.

    For the rear seat belts, a message on the instru-

    ment panel indicates the number of seat beltsthat are buckled.

    TO UPDATE THE LIST:Press D, then turn Eto select the Audio settingsfield then Radio functions and Update FM list;confirm by pressing E.

    TO STORE ONE STATION:Select a station and press one of the buttons 1 to6 until a beep sounds. To recall a stored station,press the corresponding button.

    To store up to 12 stations, select a station andpress F, turn E to select a location from 1 to 12then confirm by pressing E.

    To switch the system on or off, press A. Adjust thevolume by turning button A.

    LISTENING TO THE RADIO, A CD OR AN AUDIOPLAYER

    Select the desired source by pressing one of thebuttons Bonce or repeatedly. If you wish to listento an AUXILIARY source, connect your audio playerto the corresponding socket.

    FM RADIO SOURCETo select a radio station from an alphabetical list,press Cto go to the station name field, then turn Eto scroll through the list of radio stations.

    To recall a stored station, move across to the sta-tion number, then scroll through the radio stationsusing E.

    PAIRING A BLUETOOTH DEVICE (AUDIO

    PLAYER, ETC.)To use your Bluetooth device, you must ensurethe system recognises it (pairing), before it is usedfor the first time. Once the vehicle is started, yourdevice will then be recognised and automaticallyconnected to the hands-free system.

    Manual seat adjustment

    TO MOVE THE SEAT FORWARDS OR BACKWARDSLift handle 1, slide the seat to the required posi-tion and release the handle. Check that it is cor-rectly locked.

    TO RAISE OR LOWER THE SEATOn equipped vehicles, move handle 2 as manytimes as is required:

    upwards to raise the seat; downwards to lower the seat.

    ADJUSTING THE LUMBAR SUPPORT ON THEDRIVERS SEAT

    Lower handle 4 to increase the support and lift itto decrease it.

    Electric seat adjustment

    TO MOVE THE SEAT FORWARDS OR BACKWARDSMove the switch 1 forwards or backwards to therequired position.

    TO RAISE OR LOWER THE SEATMove the switch 1 up or down until the requiredheight is reached.

    TO RAISE OR LOWER THE FRONT OF THE SEATBASEOn the drivers side, raise or lower the front of theswitch 1until the required height is reached.

    ACCESS TO THE REAR SEATSManually controlled seatsLift handle 4and slide the seat forward.

    To bring the seat into position, bring the seatbackinto position.

    Electrically controlled seatsLift handle 4and tilt the seatback completely: theseat moves forward.

    To put the seat back in position, lift the seatback,check that the headrest does not impede move-ment. The seat returns to its original position.

    TO TILT THE SEATBACKMove the top of the switch 2 forwards or back-wards until the required angle is reached.

    Heated seats

    Turn control knob 3to the position correspondingto the required temperature (1, 2 or 3).

    To turn it off, move the control knob back to po-sition 0.

    The system maintains the required temperaturewith a thermostat.

    An indicator light on the instrument panel lights uponce the front seat heating system is operating.

    Headrest

    RAISING THE HEADREST

    Raise the headrest to the required height.

    LOWERING THE HEADREST

    Press button 1 then lower the headrest to the re-quired height (you do not have to press the buttonto lower the first three positions).

    TO ADJUST THE ANGLE OF THE HEADREST

    Depending on the vehicle, move section Atowardsor away from you to the required position.

    Door mirrors

    ADJUSTMENTPress button 2to select the rear view mirror to beadjusted.

    FOLDING DOOR MIRRORSSwitch 3 in central position: the door mirrorswill fold back automatically when the vehicle islocked. They will fold out when the ignition is nextswitched on.Depending on the vehicle, to force the door mirrorsto fold back or out, position switch 3at Bor Cre-spectively. Automatic mode is then deactivated. Toreactivate it, set switch 3to the central position.

    TILTING THE DOOR MIRRORS

    When switching to reverse, you can adjust andstore the position of the door mirrors so as tofacilitate manoeuvres. Refer to Section 1 of yourdrivers handbook.

    Automatic climate

    controlTo benefit from automatic climate control, selectthe right and left-hand temperatures required usinglevers 3 and 4 and select one of the three auto-matic programmes:

    AUTO:mode where the temperature is graduallyreached ;

    SOFT: mode where the temperature is reachedslowly ;

    FAST: mode where the temperature is reachedquickly.

    Note: pressing one of the other buttons will exitautomatic mode according to your requirements.

    AIR CONDITIONINGButton 2activates (integrated indicator off) or in-hibits (integrated indicator on) the operation of theair conditioning.

    AUTOMATIC RECIRCULATIONYour automatic climate control is fitted with a

    sensor that measures the external air quality. Ifpolluted air is detected, air recirculation will be ac-tivated automatically.Note : the integrated indicator on button 1 onlycomes on when air recirculation is activated manu-ally.

    Electronic parking brakeDepending on the vehicle, the brake is automati-cally activated when the engine is switched off bypressing the engine start/stop button (unless theengine has stalled).The parking brake is automatically deactivated:with the engine running and a gear engaged, assoon as the clutch is released (manual gearbox)when accelerating.The assisted parking brake, like the manual parkingbrake, also enables:

    manual engagement: lift the switch 1; manual release: with the brake pedal depressed ,

    press switch 1.

    Cruise control/speed

    limiterIf fitted to the vehicle, activate the cruise control orspeed limiter by moving switch 2:

    cruise control;Note:you can always interrupt the cruise controloperation by pressing on either the brake pedal orthe clutch.

    Fuel tank

    Your vehicle is fitted with an integrated fuel fillerflap 1.

    Press the left-hand side of the flap to open it,

    then insert the nozzle.

    When driving, when the low fuel level warninglight comes on, fill the tank as soon as possible.

    After the warning light comes on, you haveapproximately 30 miles (50 km) left, driving atmoderate speed.

    The fuel tank capacity is approximately 66 litres.

    Cup holder

    Press 1to deploy the cup holder. Push it to returnit to its housing.

    Ticket holder

    The drivers sun visor is fitted with a band 2whichholds motorway tolls and this reference guide, etc.

    On the drivers side, you vehicle also has a ticket

    holder in place of the grab handle.

    Automatic raising of

    electric windows

    You can close them simultaneously by pressing thelocking button on the card on button 3twice.
