Scene 1

This is the first scene of the clip. It is a point of view , that started from a wide shot, that is slightly blurred as it is revealing to the audience that someone is waking up. It uses a tracking shot to focus in on the child with the birthday cake.

Scene 2

This scene is where the Sarah wakes up in the hospital bed and has a glimpse of the girl with the birthday cake again. It cuts back to a close up of Sarah in the hospital bed where she wakes up completely from her sleep in the hospital bed. It then uses a mid shot of her climbing out of bed as she does’t seem to recognise where she is in the hospital bed.

Scene 3In this scene Sarah walks out of the hospital room and an establishing shot is used to show where Sarah is. After that in the a corridor a trombone shot happens and zooms in on Sarah but zooms out the background. This shot creates tension and shock for the audience as they realise the darkness is going to get Sarah.

Scene 4In this scene Sarah is running away from the darkness. The scene is displayed in a wide shot and a steadicam has been used to record Sarah running from the front. This makes the audience scared as it’s a chase scene. The next scene you see the darkness start to chase Sarah and catch up with her from the back. This scene makes the audience even more worried for Sarah because it looks like the darkness is taking her.
