MAIN TECHNOLOGIES

Air to Water – AW – 7500 A wind driven product that produces clean water from air, with no

grid connection, outside power or chemicals. The airflow over the cold side of the heat exchanger condenses the humidity in the air, just as in a dehumidifier, to produce up to 7,500 liters per day.

Water to Water – WW – 90K A wind driven product that produces clean water from salty,

brackish or polluted water, with no power or chemicals required. The unit provides up to 90,000 liters per day under favorable conditions.

Regions with suitable conditions We have identified those global regions which have the best mix of wind and temperature conditions.

Water to water

Water to water & Air to water

Water to water

This technology is most suitable when used in areas with air temperatures, warm and humid climates, such as the Middle East, parts of South America, Africa, Australia, and Southeast Asia, including Indonesia.

MAIN PRINCIPALS

This Product does not require an outside power source as it has an independent energy generation through the windmill rotor. The system will convert energy from the wind into mechanical energy which instead of converting it into electrical energy as in most cases is converted into thermal energy.

The air to water windmill uses atmospheric humidity as its water source, and wind as its energy source. Now the question is - Will the atmosphere run out of humidity? Not likely! Engineering estimates made by Rainmaker suggest that there is roughly a constant 14,000 Km³ of water in the air in the form of water vapor. The evapo-transpiration process in the hydrologic cycle replenishes the water vapor every 9 days. This makes a water supply source that is limited only by the arithmetic of possibilities, and unlimited by practical considerations

AIR TO WATER – AW- 7500Operating Principals The Rainmaker turbine forces air through a heat exchanger

where the air is cooled and condensation takes place. When the temperature falls below its dew-point, water droplets will form and are collected in a water storage compartment. Warm ambient air, in particular, may contain large amounts of water.

Lowering the temperature of air requires relatively little energy. By doing so, large volumes of water become available by condensation and can be utilized as drinking or irrigation water.

The system is highly efficient in converting wind energy to thermal power, which in turn, feeds the water production unit attached to the tower.

WATER TO WATER – WW – 90K A wind driven product that produces clean water from salty, brackish or polluted water, with no

power or chemicals required. The unit provides up to 90,000 liters per day under favorable conditions. The output will also depend on the size and input capacity of the chosen location and installation

In many regions where briny or brackish water is found, this type of wind turbine will provide an answer to the problem. Beside the ability to make clean drinking water, its use of sustainable energy ensures that the environment will not become more overburdened and, important for the user, that energy costs will be independent of the supply-and-demand whims of energy markets.

WATER TO WATER – WW – 90K

The water production unit is distinct from the Air to water solution, even though it utilizes the same proprietary direct driven compressor system.

The Water to Water (WW) Solution is even more energy efficient than the Air to Water Solution, utilizing a thermal process similar to Multi-Stage Flash (MSF) and Multiple-Effect Distillation (MED), but in a unique hybrid process that utilizes a membrane as well. The heat is used in a membrane distillation process

Features Stand-alone system No external energy sources needed Clean water production as competitive rates Producing clean, fresh drinking water from brackish or sea water Capacity range: 95,000L scalable to 200,000L (annual average per day) Limited maintenance due to membrane technology Operational in short time: 90-120 days Wind speed 3 – 18 m/s or 6.7 – 40 miles per hour Appropriate for regions with access to water

OSI Steel Pvt Ltd

Page 13: OSI Steel Presentation

WATER TO WATER – WW – 90KOperating Principals Here, water is used as a basis raw material instead of air. The total output of the

turbine is much bigger, resulting in a lower price per cubic metre of potable water. Heat is produced from the power unit by the use of a heat pump. This heat is used in

a “flash evaporation” process. Vapour produced from heating the water then passes through a porous hydrophobic

(water repelling) membrane. The WW unit’s membrane only allows water vapour to diffuse through, unlike

Reverse Osmosis where water containing dissolved salts and/or other solids pass through the membrane. The pores in the membrane are also larger than the pores in Reverse Osmosis membranes and there is less pressure and energy required for the vapour to pass through the membrane.

The driving force of this technology is actually the partial pressure difference between each side of the membrane pores. The efficiency of the WW Membrane Distillation system makes it possible to desalinate large quantities of water with very little energy.

Membrane Distillation is a relatively new method of desalination and renewable energy is well suited to serve as the input source of energy. Recent developments in membrane technology have created significant interest in marrying renewable energy with Membrane Distillation.

SOME FACTS Differences in temperature and humidity in each of these areas affect the amount of water that will

be generated by this technology. This is related to the amount of water contained in the air. For example,

- air with a temperature of 20 ° C and 50% RH containing 7.3 grams of water per 1 kilogram of air

- air with a temperature of 45 ° C and 15% RH contains almost 10.42 grams of water per 1 kilogram of air

PILOT PROJECTS In September 2013, A 'water-from-air' technology pilot project was

successful installed at a site in Um Al Himam, Kuwait. The chief objective of the pilot installation is to validate the technology in the "difficult conditions of the Kuwaiti climate".

The facility has already successfully produced water out of air at the site - and the Kuwaiti Environmental Protection Agency (KEPA) intends to use it to supply its 'green wall' project, an ongoing government-backed scheme, which aims to plant 315,000 trees along the borders of Kuwait along a 420 km stretch within the next ten years.

In addition to the Kuwaiti installation, the company also operates a pilot plant at Leeuwarden in the Netherlands. Both facilities have successfully produced water out of air. Currently discussions on expanding the capacity of the KEPA project are being undertaken

The fact that the two facilities are located at sites with 'very dissimilar' topographical and climatic conditions, serves as a validation of the technology - and suggests that it is viable "for all locations with conditions that lie between these two extremes".

Page 18: OSI Steel Presentation

SUITABLITY OF THE TECHNOLOGY The technology is especially suitable for remote locations - mainly because it does

not need to be connected to an existing energy grid or water infrastructure, meaning it can be constructed "in the exact location where water is needed the most". This also provides an added advantage because it reduces the need for the transportation of water, which is "very costly and environmentally unfriendly".

Not only does it now mean that water can be produced at relatively cheap levels anywhere across the world, it also means that the need for long distance, progressively aging, distribution networks is reduced. With RainMaker water can be produced locally, even if there is not a reservoir or groundwater source nearby

Another intriguing possibility is the idea of installing the AW75 technology in wind farms, possibly in combination with existing wind turbines, to create "a completely self-sufficient area in terms of energy and water

Perhaps less obvious are the island community opportunities, in particular in tourist areas, where seasonally fluctuating water demands mean that large quantities of potable water often need to be shipped in from mainland sources or produced on-island using very expensive techniques.

Rainmaker technology can be installed in various places and for various purposes such as drinking water, agriculture, industry, Beverage industry, fire fighting, military, mining sector etc.

MARKET APPLICATION Aid / Disasters

Military

AgricultureNo water, no agriculture. It is as simple as that! But usable water is not readily available everywhere. We are digging deeper and deeper for wells, we are transporting water over hundreds of miles and we are using expensive reverse osmosis technologies to be certain of a steady water stream for agricultural purposes. Rainmaker offers solutions to clean brackish, salty or contaminated water in a sustainable way. The natural elements provide us with the energy to purify the water for agricultural use. We don’t even use chemicals. We purify water that contains up to 300.000 ppm of saline in one treatment.

Drought Unfortunately many parts of India is facing severe drought situations, mainly

Maharashtra, Bundelkand, Karnataka etc. transporting water from one place to another is just a temporary solution and an expensive one. The heavy expenditure does not provide any long term solution, Whereas our technology provides LONG TERM solution.

Building dams, installing water pipelines are not only time consuming but also require heavy capital expenditure . No doubt such activities are essential and must go on. Our technology will complement these efforts and investments

WINDS OF CHANGEWINDS OF CHANGE - WATER FROM AIR A COMPLEMENTARY SOLUTION

We know that even though we may have the best of such infrastructure, there will still be a shortage of water, due to bad monsoons , climatic changes, depleting Glaciers etc. This situation is going from bad to worse. What is even more cause of concern is that the rivers and dams are drying up more often now. We have another catch 22 situation – ground water levels are going down. The situation gets even more aggravated due to the fact that most of our rivers and water bodies are highly polluted, so a large portion of water that we have in our eco system is unavailable to us for our day to day use.

Our technology will play a very small but extremely important role under such complex situations. It will not only provide immediate solutions to the tens of millions of Rural Indian citizen, but will also play an important role for climatic change.

WINDS OF CHANGESome of the major benefits:

Financial Benefits1. The capital costs will be far less than the traditional solutions 2. The time to implement the project/s will be far less3. The energy consumption for day to day operations will be nil4. It will be much more easy to solve the problem at the targeted

water scarcity area.

Social Benefits5. People will be able to get clean water without any risk of

contamination, thus improving the health6. Women & Children will not have to travel long distances to fetch

water, this will save them time and energy, which we play a significant factor to improve their health

7. As water will be more easily available the rural people can increase the intake of water which probably they would have been avoiding due to scarcity

OSI Steel Pvt Ltd

Page 22: OSI Steel Presentation

WINDS OF CHANGESome of the major benefits:

Climatic & Ecological Benefits1. As less water from the wells & other ground water sources will be consumed, ground water

levels can increase.2. The water to water technology can be a very viable solution in terms of cost & ease of

implementation. It will help in removing the water contamination from polluted bodies (by using no energy), thus reducing ground water contamination and also reduce the discharge of contaminated water into the rivers and other water bodies.

3. Due to this technology the Government, the farmers, the rural people do not have to be totally dependent on mother nature for rains to keep the rivers flowing, to have sufficient water in the dams , to irrigate the fields, and the supply of clean drinking water 365 days a year.

4. As no electricity from the grid will be used no greenhouse gases will be emitted, thus contributing towards carbon footprint in a very big way. If this technology is implemented in a large scale, it could have a very large impact on the carbon footprint.

The Government can fulfill its commitment of providing clean drinking water to the people of india at a much earlier time frame, with less resources. Besides going for a pilot plant, a particular water scarcity area – say Latur, or Bundelkhand can be chosen as pilot project to install several machines to meet the demand of that area. The success of that can be replicated for the other water scarcity areas on a mission mode similar to that of Electricity for every Village

It is more relevant now that states are fighting for rights over rivers

OSI Steel Pvt Ltd

Page 23: OSI Steel Presentation

WINDS OF CHANGESome suggestions & ideas:

The technology could also be used as a supplementary source for water guzzling industries and Commercial establishments. The water saved in this process can be diverted to main town & cities for drinking & irrigation purpose. The industries which could Afford to use this technology are:

1. Power plants2. Alcohol & beer industries3. Beverage Industries4. Paper, Steel & textile5. Ports, AirportsAnother feasible usage could be the open cast mining sector which have

pits 30-40 meters below ground level, and water collected there is not fit for consumption, like lignite, shale, clay, coal mines, stone quarries etc.

Most of the STP’s do not work due to lack of electricity which defeats the very purpose they were meant to solve – treat industrial waste before it is released into the rivers. Our technology can be an ideal & reliable solution.
