Message From Fr. Steve Pinzon, Parochial Vicar

Dear Parishioners, Hello everyone. I would like to introduce myself a little more. My name is Father Steven Pinzon. I'm the new guy here, since July. I will be serving and ministering as a parochial vicar at our parish of Notre Dame de la Mer and as a Director of Catholic Identity at our Wildwood Catholic High School. Originally, I am born and raised in Vineland, NJ, where my parents live still. My brother is married with three children, living in Georgia. My home parish was Our Lady of Pompeii and St. Padre Pio. I graduat-ed from St. Mary Regional School and Vineland High School. I am a priest for 13 years with a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Divinity from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Overbrook, PA and a Master of Science in Church Management from Villanova University. I've been in several parishes through the years, being in Stratford, Mullica Hill, Swedesboro, Bridgeton (merged), Haddonfield, Hammonton (merged). My family background is Latino/Hispanic from Colombia. I've ministered for the spanish-speaking in Swedesboro, Bridgeton, Hammonton, and now here in the Wildwoods and the Villas. Many thanks to all of you who have been very welcoming and accommodating to me. Please know of my encouragement to our parishioners that God is present and alive, ready to motivate us into prayer and activity, for the purpose of the common good and God's holy will. Looking forward to the worship, community, ministry and service that we as a church and people will enjoy together. This Sunday of October 7th is the day of our Lady of the Holy Rosary, a day which personally I have a devotion and is historically one of the most famous of Catholic feasts. Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, pray for us. Nuestra Señora del Santo Rosario, ruega por nosotros. God bless y Bendición, Father y Padre Steve Pinzon

Stewardship

October 7, 2018 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time Foundational Stewardship

“So out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name.” (G 2:19) The creation story reminds us of two important points. First, since the start, God has put the entire world into our care. Second, Stewardship has been around since the beginning of mankind, it isn’t something recently invent-ed by the Church. Just as past generations built our Church, it is now our responsibility to continue to nur-ture and develop these gifts for future generations.

Holy Hour of Intercession The Youth and Young Adults Office at the Diocese of Camden requested that parishes come together in Intercessory Prayers for our youth. With so many daily distractions and temptations negatively affecting the mind, body, soul and spirit of our young people, it is important that we pray for healthy interactions and cor-rect moral values in their lives. We are therefore providing time each month when parishioners can come together to pray for all children and young adults, as well as all the intentions they hold in their hearts.

Our next holy hour will be Monday, Oct 15, 2018 (the third Monday of the month),

at 9:00 AM at Kelly Hall
