Luesma & Vega

2

Luesma Vega is a glass studio who design and develope pieces with contemporary techniques.

One vision is dedicated to design and produce some of the results obtained

in the development of dishes made with renowned chefs.

Our experience began in the restaurant el Bulli in 2003.

All pieces are made of glass.

Although some have a glazed ceramic appearance is due to the color of the mass of the glass,

that can be opaque and not transparent, and the surface can be satin.

We use different types of glass in the best quality available.

All production is done in our workshop in the Poble Espanyol in Barcelona, Spain.

The whole process is craftsmanship.

We strive to be different from an industrial process where all the pieces would be very similar.

Our pieces show small variations in the size, borders and decorations

but it respond to a very accurate technical process.

We strive to fulfill a key briefing: resistant pieces, stackable, hygienic, easy to clean,

dishwasher safe, beautiful, fun, differen, light, hold the gastronomic proposal appropriately and clever.

But some series have singularities and need special care.

Spain National Crafts Award 2011 product category

The tableware for snacks Miramar Restaurant 2011 was awarded the Ramon Barbat Craft Award.

The tableware for the restaurant Koy Shunka was awarded the 1st prize Design ESDI-CIDIC 2012.

The collection "Autumn leaves" for El Celler de Can Roca received the 1st prize in the design category Bullseye-Emerge 2012.

All dyed show various differences, each piece is particularly different.

The finished pieces with the "old silver" are coated with aluminum for the rear.

After several washings may be fading but still equally interesting piece.

They can be washed in the dishwasher but not suitable for microwave.

The copper dyed pieces may change from greens to reds.

SunaSuna pieces are made by applying a layer of silver in the glass melting.

The film is oxidized and produces the famous "yellow silver» which is used traditionally in the stained glass windows.

All pieces except the suna bowl-cup wear a protective enamel over silver that make them suitable for machine washing. Also repairable.

Notes for the suna bowl-cup: Hand washing is recommended. After successive washes may be disappear silver but the yellow stain remains.
