1A. Reading

Read Mercedes’ letter and answer the questions.

Hi there!

My name’s Mercedes, and I’m a student at Salamanca university, in Spain. Where are

you from? I study modern languages, and one day I want to travel around South

America. I go to classes every day, and come home in the evening for dinner. I usually

eat at home, but sometimes I go out for a pizza with my friends. I’m studying hard right

now, because I have to do exams next week. I love my course, but it’s hard work!

What do you do? What are your hobbies? I love reading books, and buying clothes. I

don’t like sports much, but I like swimming. I usually go swimming every weekend. I like

music, too, and I buy a lot of MP3s on the Internet. Right now, I’m listening to some

new Michael Smith songs. I love them!

Write soon and tell me about your life.

Mercedes
