Overall Impact1. DSSC are still new and not mass produced for commercial use, the embodied energy is 720MJ/m2 (Maria Parisi et al) , “favourable compared with other solar technologies, due to less manufacture heat needed for process”.

2. Modularity and retrofitability in design ensures less material impact

3. Until life cycle is thoroughly assessed, not ethical to bring product to market 4. Concept of efficiency (or doing more with energy in our own homes) is an important factor for the future (DSSC or not)
