San Carlos de Bariloche lies on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi, which combined with mountains and forests makes up the context of one of the most beautiful sites on Earth. Lying on the West of the
Province of Río Negro and 1,640 kilometers away from the City of Buenos Aires, Bariloche offers all the services and amenities necessary for visitors to choose this place as the perfect location to rest at any
season. Fly-fishing trout and salmonidae during the summer and practicing various sports such as hiking, river rafting along dozens of waterways and walking around the ancient forests, as well as the
ascents to most summits surrounding the city, are some of the recreational activities enjoyed by visitors to Bariloche. The first snowfalls announce the beginning of the ski season and the practice of winter
sports at mythical Mount Catedral, considered one of the most important ski resorts in the country and visited by thousands of fans every winter. Tours on mountain bike and horseback rides with the
possibility of camping in the thick forests, with natural rivers and lakes, make visitors want to come back to the city once and again in the Fall, the Spring or the Summer.

In the Southern Hemisphere the seasons, weather and climate are reversed from those in the NorthernHemisphere. While we are experiencing winter in the United States and Europe, in Patagonia , Chile it issummer.
Weather in Argentine Patagonia sits in the Chilean Andes’ rain shadow, which blocks most Pacific storms. After heavy precipitation falls on the seaward Andean slopes, powerful dry westerlies gust incessantlyacross the arid Patagonian plains. Due to oceanic influence where the South American continent taperstoward the south, the region’s climate is generally temperate, but winter temperatures often drop well belowfreezing.
Generally, Patagonia weather is dominated by two factors. The first is the strong and highly predominantwesterly wind and the second is the Andes, as they build a barrier to the west winds and the moisture thesewinds carry, in a manner comparable to the Rocky Mountains in North America but on a much bigger scale. This is mainly due to the Antarctic influence, also called the "Antarctic accent”.
Going through Patagonia from west to east, it can be observed that over a distance of only 60 miles theprecipitation regime changes from fully temperate Patagonian Rainforest (200 inches of rainfall annually) tosemi-arid Patagonian Steppe (20 inches of rainfall annually), due to the effect of the Andes barrier, asshown in the figure below.
As you can see Patagonia weather patterns are amazingly complex, and so it's virtually impossible toanswer the common question "When can you expect the best weather?" Throughout our summer seasonthe temperature can range from 40 to 90 F, with winds from 0 to 50 miles per hour. It could be cold and wetor hot and sunny, so it's best come prepared for any conditions. We will provide you with all the informationon what to bring, once you book with us. .

The City of Puerto Madryn is bathed by the blue waters of the Nuevo Gulf, on the East of the Province of Chubut, and it lies on the cliffs shaped by a small plateau that features an impressive perspective of the
Atlantic Ocean. The whale season is one of the attractions that have made this city famous worldwide.
From June to December, various populations of southern right whales reach these shores. Visitors may
watch them both on board the boats leaving from Puerto Pirámides and from some natural viewpoints
and almost all the beaches bordering the city. Due to the great deal of SCUBA divers from all round the world that choose this city, Puerto Madryn has projected countless artificial reefs in the last few years to
be used in the traditional first-time diving experiences. No wonder this city is known all throughout the
country as the Diving Capital of Argentina. In the summer, its shores also lure those who enjoy
sunbathing. The bathing resorts have the entire necessary infrastructure to practice numerous nautical
activities, such as windsurfing and, of course, SCUBA diving. Its particular geographical location causes rainfalls to be scarce in this area all year round. Annual average temperature is about 14º C, with
maximum 35º C in the summer and dropping to 5º C in the winter.

In Patagonia there are only small seasonal changes in the temperature regime in contrast to the same latitude in the northernhemisphere, but "all the seasons can be observed in a single day". Weather change very often, in active excursions, we will beexposed to the elements.
Clothes LayeringWhat's the secret to staying warm and comfortable in the outdoors? Clothes layering. Layers allow you to build a tiny microclimatethat surrounds your body and can be adapted to moisture, wind, temperature, and exertion. At les three layers are nesesary:
• Base LayerThe inner-most layer is critical because it's in direct contact with your skin. Base layers (also known as underwear) should transportmoisture awayfrom the skin and disperse it to the air or outer layers where it can evaporate.
The best base layer materials are synthetics (polypropylene and polyester). These are light and strong, absorb very little water, and
are quick to dry. Base layers should fit snuglywithout being constricting.
•Mid-LayerThe mid-layer provides insulation and continues the transportation of moisture from the inner layer. To slow heat loss, this layer must
be capable of retaining the warmth generated by your body. Wool and synthetics are well suited to this because the structure of thefibres creates small air spaces that trap molecules ofwarm air.
•Outer LayerThe outer layer protects you from the elements and should allow air to circulate and excess moisture to escape. For dry conditions, abreathable (uncoated) wind shell or a smooth-surfaced soft shell may be all you need. If you expect conditions to be more severe, awaterproof (coated) rain jacket might be adequate. A shell made of a breathable and waterproof fabric, such as Gore-Tex, will protect
you from wind and rain, and allow water vapour to escape.

El Calafate lies 316 kilometers away from Río Gallegos, capital of the Province of Santa Cruz. Has been named after the small bush called calafate, typical of southern Patagonia, which bears an ideal fruit to make jam. On the border of the Patagonian steppe, the village is an important tourist destination that has become worldwide
famous in the last few years. Most circuits towards the glaciers, especially, the well -known Perito Moreno Glacier, start in the town. The calving of the Perito Moreno and the possibility to sail close to it in order to watch
its walls from a close distance, or walk on it by hiring a hiking tour have lured visitors from all over the world. The weather at El Calafate is mainly dry. The average temperature in the summer is 19º C and -2º C in the
winter. The daylight hours vary according to season, as in the summer, the sun rises at 5:30am and it does not get dark until 11pm. In the winter, however, there are only 8 hours of sunlight. Los Glaciares National Park
occupies an area of about 500 thousand hectares and 47 glaciers start at this large ice field. Marconi, Viedma, Moyano, Upsala, Agassiz, Bolado, Onelli, Peineta, Spegazzini, Mayo, Ameghino, Moreno and Frías are some of the most important. El Calafate International Airport offers non-stop flights to cities like Buenos Aires, Bariloche,
Ushuaia, Puerto Madryn, Trelew and Puerto Natales, to name a few, and it is located 23 kilometers away from the city center.

Considered the Argentinian capital of hiking, several trails start at its very streets and get deep into the impressive surrounding mountains, such as the
famous Fitz Roy, or the incredible Cerro Torre. It lies 212 kilometers away from El Calafate, a distance covered in less than 3 hours, as the new road is
in excellent condition. During this journey, visitors will get past some sites worth photographing. The surroundings of El Chaltén combine the magic of nearby glaciers, the hidden ponds, sky-blue Lake Viedma and the mystical
presence of Mount Fitz Roy. From the village, visitors may spot its imposing unmistakable summit, almost always covered by a cloud the Tehuelche
people misread as smoke, a slip that gave origin to the native name of the hill: “chaltén”, which stands for “volcano” or “smoking mountain”.

This is the southernmost city on the planet. Due to its location near the South Pole, it has approximately eighteen hours of sunlight in the summer, whereas in the winter, it
only has seven or eight. But this does not prevent tourists from visiting it once and again. A tourist destination indeed, Ushuaia is chosen for the practice of hiking, horse
riding, mountain biking, sport fishing and the most spectacular voyages along the Beagle Channel and Lapataia Bay in Tierra del Fuego National Park. The prison at end of the world is another tourist attraction. In the winter, visitors may enjoy skiing
and rides on sleds pulled by dogs at Cerro Castor. Its modern chairlifts and its school have turned it into one of the best ski centers in south hemisphere.

Antarctica is much more than a surface of 14,677,000 square kilometers encompassing the Pole as from latitude 60º South. Unlike the Artic, which is a floating ice layer, Antarctica is continental land which
preserves around 90% of all the fresh water reserve in the world. A thick layer of ice covers over 95% of its territory, which reaches the highest elevation of all the continents, with an average height of 2,300
meters. Except for the 350 species of plants, animal life only exists in the sea environment, where whales, seals and penguins, as well as other aquatic birds, comply with most of their life cycle. The
harsh weather conditions feature temperatures that can drop to -40°C, although in the summer, when the weather is lenient, the average temperature on the Antarctic Peninsula is about -7ºC. In the winter, when the night seems to last forever, the sea ice accumulated in the periphery doubles the size of the
continent. In summer, instead, the sun is always visible. Thus, the polar night and the midnight sun phenomena take place. The first explorers did not arrive in Antarctica until 1773, performing real exploits
to discover its impius geographical features. At present, the Antarctic Treaty enables countries such as Argentina, Australia, Chile, France, the United Kingdom, New Zeland, Norway, Belgium, Japan, the
former Union of South Africa, the former USSR and the United States to carry out scientific activities and technical research on Antarctic soil.
