One of the recurring themes in my drawings is the improvised human heads. Why draw so

many and why have I returned so often to them? There are countless references you might

think of, such as the statuettes of the nineteenth century phrenology, medical charts, many

portrait galleries, that scene of the animation film Yellow Submarine, designed by Heinz

Edelmann, and so much more.

The head contains not only the face, the key to identify a person, but also as a container

of memory, and the set of the imagination and creativity, it is an excellent material for all

kinds of conceptual treatments and metaphor.

But, above all, these drawings are fun and amusement.

These pages collect hundreds of illustrations that not follow no particular theme except the

whims of the artist. However, in this new environment, they establish new and enigmatic

dialogues and they become associated in new, unexpected ways and somehow develop a

new life of their own.
