• Opportunity in refrigerators: improvement of the magnetic force reducing the material cost

Fundaments

• The origin of magnetism is due the electron spin

B = μ(H + M) B = Magnetic Induction T Gauss

H = Magnetic Field Am2 OeM = Magnetic Saturation Am2 emu/cm3

= Material Permeability Henry/ m.

• The barium Ferrite has five sub lattices (12k,4f1,4f2,2a,2b ), and will contribute in the magnetic saturation according the next formula :

Actual Process Barium Ferrite

• Nowadays the Barium Ferrite is obtained by:

1. Ceramic

2. Co precipitation

3. SOL-GEL

The highest Magnetic Saturation is about 0.475 T [Stäblein]

• Doing some changes to the actual barium ferrite process higher fields can be achieved (temperature, chemistry formula ) 0.69 T instead of 0.475 T

• Seal Material Cost

10 x 1,5 x 1000 mm = 0.49 €

• A typical refrigerator of 22 ft3 requires 9 mts of Seal
