Several months ago, in a l e t t e r I mentioned t ha t Eduardo would be needing a newervehic le . He has ha d many problems with h is 1 97 5 p ic ku p t ruck an d i t h as rea ch edth e point t ha t i t i s not good stewardship to continue put t ing more money into aw o r n o u t t r u k

I j u s t received word t h a t the d i f f e r e n t i a l has gone out and h i s t ruck i s d i sab l ed .He needs 600 to make repairs. The Riverton Christian Church Board has discussedt h i s problem and decided t h a t i t would be b e t t e r to ra ise the money fo r a newervehicle now r a the r than continue to spend la rge sums of money on th e worn out t ruck.

The problem is , there i s only 1,98^ in savings a t this time. Eduardo t e l l s ustha t he can buy a good used. Suburban for around 8 ,000 . This kind of investmentwil l purchase a vehicle th at w ill give several years of good service without anymajor problems. A new Suburban sel ls for around l6,000 and a new pickup sel lsfor arount 12,000. Another problem with buying a pickup is that i t must have acamper shel l and seats before the Government wil l a llow passengers to ride in theback. The camper shell and seats on th e p re se nt t ru ck ar e worn out. You may bethinking that we could buy a late model truck here in th e States for less moneyYou are probably r i ^ t however, th e Mexican Government would levy a tax on th evehicle equal to i t s cost or value. So i t would actually wind up costing more, andEduardo would have a problem when he needed repair parts.

God has richly blessed His followers in th i s country. We have mater ia l posess ionsthat people in underdeveloped countries only dream about. I t i s our responsibili tyto share these blessings in order that the Gospel can be spread th roughout the worldRead and study Philippians ^:10-20 to see how the Philippians sent gifts to helpth e Apostle Paul during one of his missionary t r ips .

I make this special appeal for you to share in spreading the Word in Mexico. Youroffering a t this time will allow Eduardo to carry on this important work. A vehiclei s very important and an i nt re ga l p ar t of his ministry.

We need to raise 6,000. This sounds like a lot , but with God s help, I know i tcan be done. May God bless you as you share in th i s effor t .
