Caviahue significa “lugar de fiesta o reunión”. Se dice que hace años atrás, la gente que viajaba a Copahue en carretas, paraban a descansar en las tierras donde hoy esta Caviahue. Allí se relacionaban turistas, militares y también mapuches en trashumancia que llegaban con sus animales. Desde el 2003 Caviahue tuvo un aumento en la oferta de servicios y establecimientos hoteleros cuyo objetivo es el comfort del visitante . Caviahue ofrece en invierno el producto nieve y en verano distintos atractivos (ver pag 4), mientras que Copahue brinda el producto termal que es utilizado en verano únicamente(Desde el 1 de Diciembre al 30 de Abril). Actualmente forma parte de la Ruta del Pehuén debido a la existencia de la Araucaria Araucana (Pehuén).
Caviahue means “Party or meeting place”. It is said that many years ago, when people travelled to Copahue in carts, they relaxed in the lands of Caviahue. Tourists, militaries, natives and mapuches in transhumance met there. Since 2003 Caviahue has had an increase in services offer and hotel facilities all of which aim to the visitor’s comfort. Caviahue offers snow in winter , and different tourist attraction in summer (see page 4). Nowadays this village is part of “The Pehuen Route” because of the existence of Araucaria Araucana (pehuen) tree in the area.
