Zechstein Sea Well Facts

Zechstein Inside® salt is the purest natural magnesium chloride hexahydraat and therefore the most noble salt in the world.

The Zechstein Sea existed approx. 250 million years ago. The Zechstein Sea was separated several times from the

ocean. The Zechstein Sea experienced three significant cycles of

flushing and drying in a period of approx. 10 millions of years.

Zechstein Sea Well Facts

The Zechstein Sea salt deposits are located in the Northwest of Europe approx.1500 m below the surface.

Exploitable magnesium chloride hexahydrate deposits settled

in the North of the Netherlands. The Zechstein Sea has always been protected against modern

pollution. Zechstein Inside® magnesium chloride is collected by solution

mining technology. The density of the magnesium chloride solution 32%

(“magnesium oil”) is greater than 1,30 kg/l.
