We are pleased to get in contact with you again to provide you with more information about the XXI

NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON ORGANIC CHEMISTRY, organized by the Argentine Research

Society on Organic Chemistry SAIQO (http://www.saiqo.org.ar), which will be held in Potrero de los

Funes, San Luis, Argentina from 8 to 11 de November 2017.

Registration

On–line registration to the XXI SINAQO will be available through the web site of the Symposium

(http://www.sinaqo2017.uns.edu.ar/), on Monday 12 June. Participants should apply for their

registration by sending an e-mail to [email protected] with their personal information

(ID/passport, name and surname). The subject of the e-mail should read Solicitud Registro. This process

can take 24 to 48 h. Once registration is completed, you will receive an e-mail with the username and

password to enable you to log in to the website and complete the corresponding Enrollment form

(Formularios->Inscripción). To complete enrollment, payment of a fee is required through a bank

deposit or a bank transfer to the following bank account:

Once payment is completed, the corresponding Payment Confirmation Form must be filled in on the

website of the Symposium and the receipt of payment must be attached. Remember to indicate the

information required for the invoicing, especially the names of the enrolled applicants and the amount

of money paid to be credited to the account of each of them.





Please note that a maximum of two abstract submissions per each registration is allowed and at least

one of the authors of the submitted works must be enrolled in the event, whether participant is a

member of SAIQO or not.

condition of enrollment PhD student members must credit their

condition of PhD students with a certification issued by their university.

Those whose SAIQO membership is one year old since November 30

2017, will be able to apply for a SAIQO grant by filling the corresponding

Grant Application Form at the Symposium website. The SAIQO will

evaluate the applications and determine the type of assistance it will

provide to the beneficiaries.

Graduate

students

meetings, coffee breaks. Students are not allowed to submit abstract.

As a condition of enrollment, they must certify their condition of

graduate students with a certificate issued by their university.

Deadline for early bird enrollment payment is 16 July 2017 for PhD students who are allowed to apply

for a SAIQO grant. For the remaining participants, deadline is 1 August 2017. From that date on, all costs

will increase 25%. The Organizing Committee cannot ensure publication of abstracts in the Book of

Abstracts to those enrolled after 20 September 2017.

NOTE: registration is free for Invited and Plenary Lecturers, but they have to register as participants in

the on-line registration platform and submit an abstract of the lecture.





Abstract submission

Abstracts for XXI SINAQO must be submitted on-line with an additional graphical synopsis. The

instructions for authors and the corresponding templates will be available on Instrucciones y Descarga

at the Symposium website. Upload of abstracts must be done through the Formulario Carga de

Resúmenes that will be available on 12 June 2017. Deadline for abstract and synopsis submission is 16

July 2017.

Posters

The size of the posters should not exceed 100 cm high by 90 cm wide. Authors can upload an electronic

version of the poster in pdf, jpg o png format through Formulario Carga de Póster (which is optional)

that will be available at the Symposium website.

Oral Presentations

A limited number of PhD students and young researchers are expected to present their oral

presentations at the XXI SINAQO. Oral presentations are limited to a 10-minute presentation

including the period for discussion and will be selected after the author request. Please note that

authors giving oral presentations will also be required to present their work in the form of a poster.

Participants interested in delivering an oral presentation of their abstract must select as a Tipo de

Presentación: “Póster y Presentación Oral”.

SAIQO award

The Society will give the SAIQO award to the best work presented at the XXI SINAQO in each of the

following areas: Organic Synthesis, Physical Organic Chemistry, Chemistry of Natural Products and Bio-

organic Chemistry. The award will be handed during the course of the Symposium. Applicants must

present an extended version of their abstracts. Instructions for the author and the model of the

corresponding template, will be available at Instrucciones y Descargas at the Symposium website.

Upload must be done through Formulario Carga de Resumen Extendido that will be available on 12

June 2017. Submission deadline is on 16 July 2017.

Please note that only those abstracts submitted by PhD student members can apply for the SAIQO

award.

Venue

Hotel Internacional Potrero de los Funes (http://www.hotelpotrero.sanluis.gov.ar) has been chosen as

the venue for the XXI SINAQO. All Symposium activities will be held at the facilities of the hotel.

Welcome cocktail and clossing dinner will take place at the hotel. The Symposium website provides

alternatives for hotel accommodation at Potrero de los Funes (cabins, lodges and hotels) and in San Luis

city (hotels).

Lunch at the hotel

Two different kinds of lunch will be offered at the Symposium: quick (packed) lunch and executive

menu. Participants who want to book the Lunch are asked to do it at the Symposium website, from 1

to 30 September 2017. Please note that after 30 September the hotel cannot ensure attention to those

requiring these kinds of lunch.

Quick lunch: Sandwich (round steak, ham, cheese, lettuce and tomato or chicken with avocado, tomato

and cheese) + dessert (brownie or apple crumble) + fruit water, soda water, water.





Executive menu: Main: vegetable lasagna with mixed sauce, beef with rustic mashed potatoes, grilled

chicken with welsh onion sauce and vegetable saute + Dessert: ice-creams, creme caramel with dulce

de leche, fruit salad + fruit water, soda water, water.

NOTE: we recommend to book the Lunch to be able to complete the Symposium activities. Alternatives

outside the hotel demand more time and transportation.
