Cavitacion: Un problema viejo

V.P. Skripov, P.A. Pavlov, High Temp. (USSR) 8, 782–787 (1970).
P. Kafalas, A.P. Ferdinand Jr., , Appl. Opt. 12, 29–33(1973).
Aquí se usa agua destillada
(y filtrada) de modo que
nuclesos de cavitacion
practicamente no existen.
La explosion del agua se
logra mediante
perturbaciones.

Copper nitrate salt decomposes at 170 °C into copper(II) oxide,
nitrogen dioxide and oxygen:
2Cu(NO3)2(s) → 2CuO(s) + 4NO2(g) + O2(g)
Copper nitrate can be used to generate nitric acid by heating it
until decomposition and passing the fumes directly into water.
2Cu(NO3)2 → 2CuO + 4NO2 + O2
3NO2 + H2O → 2 HNO3 + NO
Copper nitrate burns with an emerald green flame.
Fabricacion de nanoparticulas con cavitacion?
The common pentahydrate CuSO4·5H2O form dehydrates, losing
four water molecules at 110 °C and all five at 150 °C.
At 650 °C, copper(II) sulfate decomposes into copper(II) oxide
(CuO) and sulfur trioxide (SO3).

The pH decreases indicating increase of acidity
Large absorption produces large increase on temperature
DTmax=?? At least 650o C!!
Cual es el mecanismo entonces?
Titanio es un metal que se sublima
a 1668 °C.
En el foco estamos alcanzando
algunos miles de °C!!

Schematic representation of laser drilling. ORL0 is the laser radius in the focal plan and
α the numerical aperture. During drilling, the surface is heated (1), melted (2) and
vaporized. The vapour flow becomes supersonic and the recoil pressure expels the melt
layer out of the hole at the side of the focal spot, first horizontally (3) then vertically (4).
At the end of the drilling, the hole breaks through (5).
