CONFIDENCE IN THE LORD
We are nearing the end of the liturgical year. Today’s
readings remind us that our own lives will draw to a close one day, and we can be certain that the Lord will encourage, strengthen, and save us—both now and at the last. The
astonishing story of the Maccabees invigorates our faith as we behold an entire family willing to die rather than deny the Law of Moses. The psalm response echoes the faithful cries of the Maccabees: “I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God.” That same confidence appears in Saint Paul’s letter to the
Thessalonians. “The Lord is faithful,” he testifies; “He will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.” In the Gospel, Jesus explains just how long God’s protection will endure. The children of God whom God guards, Jesus says, will live forever like angels.

CONFIANZA EN EL SEÑOR
Estamos cerca del fin del año litúrgico. Las lecturas de hoy nos recuerdan que nuestras vidas se acercarán a su final un día, y podemos estar seguros de que el Señor nos animará, fortalecerá y salvará, tanto ahora y al final. La asombrosa

The Altar Servers assist the priest and the deacon in helping to bring the assembly to a fuller understanding of the liturgy and a greater love for God.
We are recruiting NEW volunteers who want to become Altar Servers. Children and teens who have received First Communion and attend Mass on a regular basis are welcome to service in this beautiful ministry. Training will be provided.

The Seven Sisters Apostolate is a call to strengthen the Church by ensuring that a Holy Hour is prayed each day of the week for the sole intention of a specific priest or bishop. The initial recipient of a Seven Sisters group is their parish pastor; the intention is directed towards the office of the shepherd more than the individual. We would like to begin this prayer apostolate at St. Michael and are seeking seven women who feel called to offer the prayerful sacrifice of one Holy Hour a week on the same day each week for the sole intention of our Pastor. Any family wanting to be included in the MAGI TREE PROJECT must complete and return an application in the locked holiday mailbox. All applications must be returned no later than November 10, 2019. Hurry, since there is a limit to the number of families and these will be filled in the order received.

The Prayers and Squares ladies were caught working hard. Every Monday this beautiful group of compassionate quilters join in making beautiful prayer quilts which are prayed over to bring comfort and healing to parishioners in need. Each unique quilt is a reminder of Christ’s love and healing power. Sorprendimos a las mujeres de Prayers and Squares trabajando duro. It is our belief as Catholics that by the consecration of the bread and wine there takes place a change of the whole substance of the bread into the substance of the body of Christ our Lord and of the whole substance of the wine into the substance of His blood. So if someone asks you, remind them that it is not a symbol, Christ is really there.

AROUND THE DIOCESE – EN LA DIÓCESIS
Join us for the thirteenth annual Christ Child Christmas Gift Market & Luncheon on Saturday, November 23 at the Renaissance Dallas Addison Hotel, 15201 Dallas Parkway, Addison. This festive event will benefit the Catholic Pro-Life Community and local Catholic maternity homes Bella House and Mater Filius.
The Gift Market will be open to the public with free admission from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The luncheon, for which reservations are needed, is from 11:30am-1:00 pm. The program will feature an Advent reflection by Fr. Joshua Whitfield, pastor of St. Rita Catholic Community and a moving ceremony honoring special Gabriel Moms from the transformative GEMS program. Tickets for the event are $45 and can be purchased by calling the Catholic Pro-Life Community at 972-267-LIFE (5433).
