    Heyat Mamud (18th century) Bangla

    Munajat Uddin

    Famous Reporter, Journalist

    Munajat Uddin was one of the best sons of the soil

    and pioneer of rural journalism giving a special

    dimension and importance to investigative news

    reporting in the history of Bangladesh. Objectiveand investigative reporting of Munajat Uddin

    disclosed the worries of the suffering humanity and

    unmasked the criminals, corrupts, extortionists, anti-

    social elements and organised criminal gangs

    In society.

    Munajat Uddin born at Gangachara upazilla . He

    met a mysterious death after falling from a ferry in

    the confluence of the rivers Jamuna-Brahmaputra at

    Kalasonar Char in Gaibandha on December 29,

    Tajhat Rajbari 

    The palace was built byMaharaja

    Kumar Gopal Lal Roy in the

    beginning of the 20th century. He

    was a jeweler by profession. It is

    believed that from the conspicuous

    appearance of his Taj   or jeweled

    crown, his estate derived the name

    of Tajhat.

    From 1984 to 1991 the palace was

    used as a Rangpur High Court

    Branch of the Supreme Court of

    Bangladesh. In 1995 the palace

    was declared as a protected

    monument by the Department of

     Archaeology Recognizing its

    outstanding architectural value the

    Government of Bangladesh shifted

    the Rangpur Museum here.

    This historical hall was built

    in 1890. It is a public place

     Nishbetgonj Martyrland Memorial 

    Rakta Gourav (Proud of

    Blood)

    In the liberation war 1971,

    there was a bloody battle

    took place on 28 March in

    Nishbetgonj, 4 km away fromRangpur City Center .

    Thousands of tribal freedom

    fighters fought against the

    strong Pak Army of Rangpur

    Cantonment with traditional

    weapon of bow and arrow. Sixhundred freedom fighters

    were martyred in this event.

    Wazed Miah Toron

    This is the main gate of Dr.

    Wazed’s  village house. It is
