LICE, AND NITS, are considered one of the most vexing problems that can

affect HEAD OF CHILDREN. SCHOOL OR COLLEGE, WHERE IS MORE

LICE are lit, DUE TO THE LARGE NUMBER OF CHILDREN FOCUS.

And although HEAD LICE not transmit disease and do not represent

HEALTH RISKS OF CHILDREN, can damage the scalp if not removed.

Because of that, a work of prevention is the most recommended during the

entire school year, both to prevent as to prevent head lice from spreading.

TO AVOID an infestation, outbreak or epidemic of head lice in schools, it is

necessary for parents of students too are involved in it. For this, it is

advisable that teachers and parents certain steps and care to prevent lice.

1 - It is extremely important for educators to present students with a

complete information about head lice, that is, how they are spread, what

symptoms indicate an infestation of lice, and what to do if the child is a

louse on your head or head of a school friend.

2 - When it detects a case of head lice, it is advisable that the school

authorities immediately informed the parents of the affected child, that they

take the necessary steps to remove the lice and nits that your child may

have.

3 - Avoid clothing, namely, hats and caps, hats, scarves, headbands,

coats, sports uniforms ... that children often hang on racks in the

classroom, are in direct contact. Lice do not fly or jump, but walk quickly

from one element to another.

4 - It should advise children not to share combs or brushes, or forks, or

caps or hats, or blankets, towels, etc.. One Boy with lice can spread to

many other children.

5 - If there are cases of head lice in school, ask the children to avoid

contact of head to head, the girls take her hair and children's hair as short

as possible.

6 - Monitor and improve the hygiene in the classroom and in the halls,

swimming pools and other facilities of the college. Outside the human body

lice can survive up to 48 hours, even in the pool water.

7 - It is necessary to demystify the lice are related to poor hygiene of

children. It is advisable to clarify the children that lice do not distinguish

social class or skin color, or health status. Lice only need the warmth and

blood to survive and reproduce.

Anyone in close contact with someone who already has head lice is at

greatest risk bone having head to head contact. Sometimes you can get

head lice from contact with clothing such as hats, scarves, coats and other

personal items such as toothbrushes or towels, which belong to an infested

person. Children in preschool and primary school, 3 to 11 years, and their

families are the ones most frequently infest. Girls gain head lice more often

than boys, and women more than men. In the U.S., African-Americans

rarely get head lice. Neither personal hygiene or cleanliness in the home or

school has nothing to do with head lice in a person.
