Employment of Manual Scavengers & Construction of Dry Latrines

(prohibition) Act, 1993 is in force in Gujarat

State Govt. has reported number of times regarding non-existence of

manual scavenging which GoI has also accepted

Census 2011:

Social Justice & Empowerment Department, GoG is Nodal Department

Fresh survey on the basis of 2011 Census report is going on in the State

Survey reports received from 3 Corporations and 6 Districts wherein no

manual scavenging is reported
