Preparing for Next Sunday 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time

In the first reading, the writer reminds us that while God has no favorites, he does hold a special place in his heart for the weak and oppressed, the orphan and the widow. Timothy, in the second reading, is encouraged to place his faith and trust in God. Jesus tells a parable about a Pharisee and a tax collector in today’s Gospel.

All Souls Day Luminarias Remember a loved one. Honor a special person. Orders for All Souls Day luminarias are being accepted. All Souls Day Mass will be on Friday, November 1st. Sunday, October 26, is the deadline to place and guarantee orders. Luminarias will be displayed around the Rosary Walk and inside the Church. The donation is $5 per name. Order forms are available in the OLMC Bookstore, Church, and from Confirmation candidates. All proceeds benefit the Confirmation Program.

Las luminarias se colocarán alrededor del sendero del Rosario y en el interior de la Iglesia. La donación es de $ 5 por cada nombre. Los formularios de pedido se encuentran disponibles en la Librería OLMC, en la Iglesia y con cualquier candidato a la Confirmación. OLMC School News

OLMC School Partners with Cristo Rey Jesuit This year OLMC School continues to partner with the Catholic high schools in Houston, including our neighbors Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory School. Cristo Rey students frequently volunteer at our school to tutor, read to children, and to complete service projects. Additionally, many of our 8th graders go on to be Cristo Rey students and graduates! We are pleased that our 8th graders were able to once again visit the high school this year in order to learn more about their program. We are equally pleased to continue to work with Cristo Rey Jesuit to ensure that a Catholic education is available to all Houston-area families with students Pre-K through 12th grade. World’s Finest Chocolate Fundraiser OLMC School’s first big fundraiser of the year selling candy from World's Finest Chocolates is coming to an end! These delicious pure chocolate treats can be purchased from any student or from the school office. The school receives 50% of sales as fundraising profit, so we encourage you to consider purchasing some chocolate! Please help us reach our goal! Noticias de la Escuela OLMC La Escuela OLMC es la compañera de Cristo Rey Jesuita Este año la Escuela OLMC continúa siendo la escuela acompañante de las escuelas secundarias católicas de Houston, incluyendo la Escuela preparatoria Cristo Rey Jesuita. Los estudiantes de Cristo Rey con frecuencia hacen labores voluntarias dando clases, leyendo a los niños y completando proyectos de servicio.
