Aloha, diseñado por Javier Arana, presentaunos hoyos muy variados. La mayoría de lascalles son bastante anchas, aunque con peli-gros acechando a ambos lados. Los greenesson difíciles, especialmente el del hoyo 10,par 5, que está adyacente a un lago. En losúltimos años, Aloha ha sido objeto deimportantes mejoras, que han afectado tantoal campo como a la casa club y vestuarios.El club acogió en 2007 y 2008 el Open deAndalucía, del Circuito Europeo.

Aloha was designed by Javier Arana andfeatures a wide variety of holes. Most of thefairways are fairly wide, though dangerlurks on either side, but the greens aretricky, especially the par-five 10th with itsadjacent lake. In recent years the club hasbenefitted from several improvements,namely replanted fairways and a refurbish-ment of the clubhouse and changing rooms.In 2007 and 2008 the club hosted theAndalucian Open, on the European Tour.

Corto pero agradable es la manera de des-cribir este campo, que cuenta con tres pares3, dos pares 5 y trece pares 4 en su recorri-do de 5.170 metros. Se riega con agua reci-clada y los lagos entran en juego en loshoyos 12, 13, 14 y 15. Cabopino es un buenreto para handicaps altos, que serán recom-pensados si usan todos los palos de subolsa. Los handicaps bajos tienen que arries-gar para un buen resultado. Los greenes, enexcelentes condiciones, son amplios.

Short but sweet is the way to describeCabopino, which offers three par-3s, twopar-5s and 13 par-4s in its 5,170-metre lay-out. The course is irrigated with recycledwater and lakes affect play on the 12th,13th, 14th and 15th holes. The course offersa stiff challenge for high handicap players,who will be rewarded as they use all theclubs in the bag. Low handicappers will haveto take risks if they want good results. Thegreens are large and in excellent condition.

Este campo de 9 hoyos pares 3 mide1.142 metros. Con calles estrechas y biencuidadas, sus hoyos van desde 89 hasta169 metros. Los greenes son amplios yofrecen una gran variedad de emplaza-mientos de bandera. El diseño está biendefinido por la abundante vegetación,compuesta por palmeras y robles, funda-mentalmente. El agua afecta a cuatrohoyos: 1, 2, 5 y 9. El restaurante del clubtiene una estrella Michelín.

Greenlife Golf Club is a nine-hole par-3course of 1,142 metres. With narrow, well-prepared fairways, the holes run from theshortest at 89 metres to the longest at 169metres. The greens are large and offer aconsiderable variety of pin placings. Thelayout is well defined by its abundant vege-tation, including palm trees and oaks.Water features on the 1st and 2nd holes andthere is a river adjacent to the 5th and 9th.The club’s restaurant has a Michelin star.

Guadalmina Norte está consideradomenos difícil que Guadalmina Sur.Aunque ocupa mayor superficie, es másondulado, tiene más árboles y presentamás obstáculos de agua. El arroyo delChopo disecciona el campo de norte asur –entra en juego en el hoyo 17, porejemplo– y, por si esto no fuera suficien-te, hay lagos en los hoyos 7, 9 11 y 18.El campo fue diseñado por Folco Nardi y se inauguró en 1972.

The Guadalmina Norte is considered lessdifficult than the Guadalmina Sur course,although it covers more terrain, is moreundulating, contains more trees and hasmore water hazards. The Chopo streambisects the course from north to south – itcomes into play at the 17th, for example –and, as if this weren’t enough, there arelakes at the 7th, 9th, 11th and 18th holes.The course was designed by Folco Nardiand opened in 1972.

Guadalmina Sur, el primer campo de 18hoyos del club, que cuenta con 45 hoyos.Se inauguró en 1959 y es el segundo másantiguo de la Costa del Sol. Las calles, queserpentean entre árboles longevos, sonanchas y casi sin rough. En 2002,Guadalmina Sur fue remodelado en profun-didad, lo que supuso hacer prácticamenteun campo nuevo, con riego computerizado,nuevos tees, reconstrucción de greenes yrenovación del césped de las calles.

Guadalmina South, the first 18 of Guadalmina’s45 holes, was opened way back in 1959 and isthe second oldest course on the Costa del Sol. It ischaracterised by fairways which wind betweenmature shade-giving trees. The fairways are wideand virtually free of rough. In 2002Guadalmina South was completely refurbished.It is to all intents and purposes a new course witha new computerised watering system and newtees including “super-seniors”. The greens wereall rebuilt and the fairways re-laid with turf.

Éste es un característico campo de RobertTrent Jones, con calles anchas, numerososbunkers y amplios y ondulados greens. Losprimeros nueve hoyos requieren precisióny golpes valientes desde el tee para atrave-sar quebradas y barrancos. Aunque loshoyos siguientes no le pondrán tan nervio-so, el jugador deberá andarse con ojo en eltemible hoyo 11, un marcado dogleg a laderecha con cerros y valles.

This is a typical Robert Trent Jones design,with its sweeping fairways, abundantbunkers and large undulating greens. Thefirst few holes require accurate and bravetee shots to get across the ravines and gul-lies. Although the next holes are somewhateasier on the nerves, players should bewarethe fearsome 11th, a sharp dogleg rightwith hills and valleys.

Los hoyososcilan entre 71 y 149 metros, siendo el 3,el 4 y el 5 los que presentan mayor dificul-tad. Su recorrido es un baile de colinas,lagos y suaves pendientes. Las instalacio-nes se completan con una zona de puttinggreen y una casa club.

Río Real es obra del más famoso de losdiseñadores españoles de golf, Javier Arana,y se abrió en 1965. El campo, prácticamenteplano, se asienta en un terreno con unapendiente suave que se desliza hacia el mar.El recorrido, que destaca por su exuberantenaturaleza, no es accidentado y en su traza-do se cruza cuatro veces el río que da nom-bre al club. Este campo está consideradocomo uno de los ‘clásicos’ de Marbella, conuna venerable historia deportiva.

Golf Río Real was designed by the fore-most Spanish golf architect Javier Aranaand opened in 1965. A basically flatcourse sloping gradually down towardsthe sea, it is very picturesque. Large treesoffer plenty of shade and the fairwaysmake several crossings of the Real Riverafter which this club was named. This isconsidered one of Marbella’s “classic”golf courses – with a venerable historyover many years.

El campo es mayoritaria-mente plano, aunque el hoyo 8 sube consi-derablemente hasta el punto más alto deltrazado: el 9, un par 5 que mira hacia elmar. Santa Clara tiene greens amplios ypares 3 largos. Abierto en 2001, es uno delos campos de calidad de Marbella.

Golfers can appreciate the attention todetail in this golf course. The clubhouse, amulti-storey affair, provides excellent serv-ice for the visiting golfer, met in the carpark with a buggy. The course is mainlyflat though the 8th rises steeply to the high-est point – the 9th, a par-5 looking downto the Mediterranean. Santa Clara haslarge greens and long par-3s. Opened in2001, it is a fine addition to Marbella’sgolfing family.

El trazado de Santa María Golf serpenteapor un valle para ascender por la monta-ña. El 7, un largo par 3 de 180 metros,tiene tees elevados. Le sigue un par 5 condogleg y agua a la derecha. El 11 empiezaen otro tee en alto, bordea un lago y ter-mina en un green con una cascada a laderecha. El campo presenta un recorridocon los primeros nueve hoyos más cortosy complicados, mientras que los segundosson más largos y relajantes.

Santa María winds through a valley,before climbing up the mountain. The 7th,a par-3, 200-yard monster, is reached fromraised tees and is followed by a doglegright par-5 with water on the right. The11th starts from yet another raised tee,skirts a lake and ends at a green with awaterfall on the right. The variable terrainmeans that the first nine holes are shorterand more complicated, and the second,longer and more relaxing.
