Tires
The off-the-road (OTR) tire market is dominated by Michelin and
Bridgestone which support the mining operations at the best use
of tires
As general rules, Michelin/Bridgestone suggest for mining truckAs general rules, Michelin/Bridgestone suggest for mining truck

Job to be done
Clayton Christensen (Disruptive Innovation) creates this concept
Job to be done (JTBD) in not a product / service specific, but
rather: the greater purpose by which people buy products,
service and solutions
All job to be done (JTBD) must respond as follows:
1.- ¿What is the need?
2.- ¿Why does the need exist?
3.- ¿What is the context of this need?
Job to be done
1.- ¿What is the need?
Spend less tires with the minimum investment
2.- ¿Why does the need exist?
Due to the decrease in the sale price of its products, companyDue to the decrease in the sale price of its products, company
presents a financial contingengy situation
3.- ¿What is the context of this need?
In general, efforts are focused on tire performance loses the
focus it should be minimize tire spending
Change in objetive function

Conclusions
For the mining work under study the increase in rotation
frequency 2.000 to 2.600 hours allowed a 33% decrease in the
tire costs per hours (Simulations)
To support this strategy requires a logistics dispatch and repair To support this strategy requires a logistics dispatch and repair
of reduced time tires
The times of quotation, approval purchase orders should be
equally reduced
Conclusions
A fast tire repair system and a high percentage of scrap tires
due to wear are fundamental requirements for the
implementation of this strategy
In the same way the efforts to improve the uses of the tires
must be given bymust be given by
 Operator awareness
 Pit conditions
 Tire maintenance
 Tire monitoring & management
 Top management support
