PROBLEMA RAZONADO
Desintegración radiactiva
Las sustancias radiactivas se desintegran con el paso del tiempo. La cantidad de una cierta sustancia que va quedando a lo largo del tiempo viene dada por:
M = M0· at M0 masa inicial
0<a<1 es una constante que depende de la sustancia y de la unidad de tiempo que tomemos.
La rapidez de desintegración de las sustancias radiactivas se mide por el “periodo de desintegración” que es el tiempo en que tarda en reducirse a la mitad.

PROBLEMA RAZONADO
Ejemplo
Un gramo de estroncio-90 se reduce a la mitad en 28 años, si en el año 2000 teníamos 20gr y tomamos como origen de tiempo el año2000.
La función es:
M(x) = 20 ⋅ 0,5x/28 = 20 ⋅ 0,9755x
En el año 2053 quedará:
M = 20 ⋅ 0,975553 = 5,38 gr
