When describing what someone or something is like, use a conjugated form of the verb “ser” plus the correct form (gender and number) of an adjective.

Yo soy alta. Mi amigo es gracioso y

2 TYPES OF ADJECTIVES

Adjectives that end in “o” in their singular masculine form typically have 4 forms: alto, alta, altos, altas

Adjectives that end in “dor” also have 4 forms: trabajador, trabajadora, trabajadores, trabajadoras

Adjectives that don’t end in “o” usually do not change in gender, just in number:

inteligente, inteligentes

deportista, deportistas

ASKING WHAT SOMEONE OR SOMETHING IS LIKE

To ask what someone or something is like, use the interrogative word “¿Cómo” plus the correct form of the verb “ser”

¿Cómo es tu clase de ciencias? ¿Cómo son tus profesores? ¿Cómo eres tú? ¿Cómo es tu mejor amigo?

Note: if you use “¿Cómo” with a form of the verb “estar”, you are asking “how” someone/something is rather than what he/she/it is like.¿Cómo estás hoy?
