Érase una vez una joven muy bella que no tenía padres, sino madrastra, una viuda impertinente con dos hijas, a cual más fea.

Era ella quien hacía los trabajos más duros de la casa. Y como sus vestidos estaban siempre machados de ceniza, la llamaban Cenicienta. (Aparece Cenicienta limpiando)

Un día el rey de aquel país anunció.

Rey: Atención a todos los ciudadanos del pueblo, voy a dar una gran fiesta en mi palacio a la cual están invitadas todas las jóvenes del pueblo.

Al escuchar el anuncio, la madrastra dijo a Cenicienta:

Madrastra: Tú Cenicienta, no irás al baile. Te quedarás en casa limpiando y preparando la cenca para cuando volvamos.

Las hijas exclamaron:

Hermanastra 1: Cenicienta tienes que doblar mi ropa y limpiar mi cuarto.

Hermanastra 2: Mamá no puedes dejar que esta vaya, cenicienta junta mi ropa y quiero para la cena mi comida favorita.

Llegó el día del baile y Cenicienta, desolada, vio por la ventana cómo su madre y sus hermanastras se dirigían hacia el palacio.

Cuando se quedó sola, no pudo reprimir sus sollozos.

Cenicienta: ¿Por qué seré tan desgraciada? ¿Por qué a mí?

De pronto apareció su Hada Madrina y le dijo:

Hada: No te preocupes. Tú también podrás ir al baile… pero con una condición, que cuando el reloj de Palacio dé las 12 campanadas tendrás que regresar a casa sin falta.

Y tocándola con su barita mágica la convirtió en una hermosa joven.

La llegada de Cenicienta a Palacio causó una gran admiración. Al entrar en la sala de baile, el Rey se quedó prendado de su belleza………… Y bailó con ella toda la noche. (Bailan)

En medio de tanta felicidad Cenicienta oyó sonar las 12 campanadas.

Cenicienta: ¡Oh, Dios mío! ¡Tengo que irme!

Rápidamente atravesó el salón y se marchó de Palacio perdiendo en su huida un zapato. El Rey lo recogió asombrado. Se quedó pensativo e ideó un plan para encontrar a la bella joven.

Rey: Me casaré con aquella que pueda calzarse este zapato.

Así el Rey recorrió todo el Reino. Las doncellas se lo probaban en vano, pues no había ni a una que le fuera bien el zapato. Finalmente llegaron a casa de Cenicienta. Abrió la madrastra.

Madrastra: Hola, ¿qué desea?

Rey: Busco a una joven a la que le sirva este zapato.

Madrastra: claro pase voy a llamar a mis dos hijas:

Hijastra 1: obvio que es mi zapato de seguro que me queda a mí

Pues se lo probó y no le calzo, de inmediato intervino su hermana y dijo:

Hijastra 2: mentira es mi zapato, y sé que me va a quedar

El rey observo como las dos hermanas peleaban intentando probarse un zapato que no era de ellas entonces vio a una joven limpiando y dijo:

Rey : (Aparece Cenicienta por ahí con el trapo) – Señorita, acérquese por favor.

Cenicienta: ¿Yo?

(La Madrastra lo intenta evitar pero Cenicienta se acerca)

Cuando Cenicienta se puso el zapato vieron con estupor que le estaba perfecto.

Rey: ¡Eres tú!

Y así sucedió que el Rey se casó con la joven y vivieron muy felices.
