“I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.” John 6:35
Congratulations to our 2019 First Communicants
From the Pastor Dear Parishioners: On this Sunday at the 10 am Mass, the children of Homeschool Religious Education and Sacramental programs will make their First Communion. They will receive Christ in the Eucharist and participate in the promise of Jesus when he said: "Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him." With these words, Jesus distinguished himself from other spiritual leaders. He was doing more than offering advice. He was offering himself: "The bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world." Through the Eucharist, Jesus provided a way for his followers to be intimately connected with him, not just with his ideas. When we receive this sacrament, we can be close to the Lord not only in our hearts but in our bodies as well. In other words, we are able to unite our entire being--body and soul--to Christ. When we receive communion at Mass, we foretaste of that ultimate satisfaction that we will experience in heaven. Receiving the Lord in the Eucharist is a momentous miracle and an earthly glimpse into the eternal life Jesus promises us. As we rejoice with the first communicant children, I praise all parents for passing on the faith allowing their children to receive this profound Sacrament of the Eucharist. Our Homeschool Religious Education Program is an opportunity for the parents to be involved closely in the faith formation of their children as they come once a month to interact with their catechist about what they have learned at home. It is a way to involve the whole family in which the religious beliefs are taught in a nurturing environment. Please know that registration is open for our Sacramental and Homeschool Religious Education Programs. I thank Sister Revelina Santiago, the Deacons Bill Warmouth, Conrad Wojnar, the secretary Noreen Johnson, and the catechists Pat Weber, Veronica Figueroa, MaryBeth Conte, Margie Pelinski, Linda Wojnar, Josh Conte, Chris Darrey, Peg Suerth and Sandie Sylvester for their dedication and love to our children by instilling in them a desire to know Jesus more. In Jesus and Mary,
Recibirán a

With your generosity so far we have remodeled the St. Joseph Room, Parish Center Bathroom, Music Room, paved the alley and put lights in the parking lot.
Please remember to send in your payments directly to the “To Teach Who Christ Is” campaign using the envelope enclosed with your statement. Save us an envelope and stamp, as it must go through them for the proper credit to be applied. We are hoping to repave the parking lot when we have acquired enough money. We are a little over half way there.

We want to express our heartfelt thanks to all who made our Mother's Day Flower Sale a success! Through your generosity, we were able to raise $657 in sales and donations to benefit the Women's and of Greater Chicagoland (GoTwc.org). We also want to thank the many volunteers who helped to make the sale a sell-out. May God and our Blessed Mother bless you for your generosity!

¡Gracias!

Knights of Columbus Baby
Bottle Project For the
Women’s Center Beginning on these dates, our parish will be
participating in The Baby Bottle Project benefiting The Women’s Centers of Greater Chicagoland. This non-profit organization directly assists mothers and families experiencing crisis pregnancies by offering emotional, financial, material, and spiritual support through counseling, clothing & monetary provisions, prayer, and other aid. Each year the three locations together have over 5,000 appointments with expecting mothers. By God’s Grace, The Women’s Centers have saved almost 40,000 babies—and their mothers—from abortion since opening in 1984. Please take a Baby Bottle home with you from the church on the weekend of May 25th, fill it with your spare change, and return it the weekend of June 23rd. This is a simple, but crucial fundraising effort for The Women’s Centers. Please note the Baby Bottles cost almost $1.00 per bottle and are recycled afterwards so please return upon completion of the project. Thank you for helping defend life, and remember to keep all pro-life undertakings in your prayers. Also if you are making a donation by check, please make it payable to: The Women’s Center. Thank you!
