Grid Connected Bagasse Based Cogeneration Project Of Ugar Sugar Works

Limited (USWL)

Project description: As a part of the project activity USWL has established a biomass based

cogeneration project including a high pressure boiler 80 TPH, 62 kg/cm2 and TG of 22.8 MW.

For the first time in the country and sector, the project activity deploys the bagasse dryer of

40 tonnes per hour which utilises waste heat of flue gases (180-190°C). Also, the project is

amongst the first to deploy high pressure boilers and turbine in the sector.

Objective: Complete CDM project cycle development including PDD preparation, assistance

in validation and obtaining HCA, registration with CDM EB

Third Party Inspection Of Damaged Wind Turbine

Objective: To inspect damaged turbines Blades, review the diagnostic report/data

Activity

(1) To visit the site and inspect the damaged turbines’ Blades, review the diagnostic

reports/information/data and discuss with the site engineers

(2) Review the remedial steps taken for correcting the defects on blades

(3) Study the Lightning protection system installed and its adequacy / improvements

required if any. Recommend on improvement suggested by Vestas - the Cap & Strip.

(4) Conduct Material failure analysis at laboratory to assess the cause of damage.

(5) Submit a report outlining opinion on:

(a) What is the problem with the blades?

(b) What could be the cause (manufacturing defect, shear, lightening strike etc?)

(6) Whether the remedial measures taken by the WTG manufacturer are adequate or not?

Highlights

(1) A complete report with a detailed observations, findings, & recommendations post onsite

inspections of turbine blade, lab analysis was submitted.

(2) The report submitted was prepared post detailed discussions with our senior team with

more than 20 years of experience TPI of wind turbine.

Generation and distribution using a Decentralized system: Solar PV at

Cricket Club of India (CCI)

Cricket Club of India (CCI) wished to opt for alternative power procurement within its own

premises under the Decentralized generation and distribution model.

CCI was already using dedicated DG sets at its stadium complex for being able to run day-

night matches.

RSM GC advised CCI to install hybrid decentralized solar power system

Installation of a rooftop based solar PV project of 27.6KW capacity was arrived at which would

give an attractive return of over 28% IRR and a payback period of less than 3 years.
