1.0 INTRODUCTION


This procedure covers the Computer Aided Design & Drafting Standards for the PROJECT specific drawing for FEED Services for Yas Island to Mina Zayed Gas Pipeline PROJECT. All CADD generated drawings, for this PROJECT shall be prepared in accordance with the standards and requirements of this document.

2.0 SCOPE

The intent of this document is to ensure the overall consistency of preparation,

presentation and structure in CADD files for FEED Services for Yas Island to Mina Zayed Gas Pipeline PROJECT is maintained.

5.0 SOFTWARE


All FEED Services for Yas Island to Mina Zayed Gas Pipeline PROJECT drawings shall be in AutoCAD 2007 format.

6.0 FILE NAMING CONVENTIONS

For drawing numbers refer to Numbering Procedure, 5275-PP-581-01-002.

All file names for CADD drawings and engineering lists are derived from the drawing number. All file names for CAD drawings are derived from the drawing number are followed as per the Numbering Procedure, 5275-PP-581-01-002 as per the following:

7.2 Title Blocks


All drawings must utilize GASCO Title Blocks/Drawing Borders. Title Blocks/Drawing Borders have been prepared for each drawing size and are approved for PROJECT use.

Each drawing will have its own specific title. Titles must be self explanatory and concise. Project deviations should be avoided unless otherwise necessary.

The title of a drawing consists of three lines:

First line – Drawing Type;

Second line – Facility Description;

Third line – Area / Unit Description.

When completing the Title Block area for DRAWN BY, CHECKED BY, APPROVED BY, the individual’s first (and second) initial shall be entered.

All dates within the Title Block shall conform to the following convention:

DD-MM-YY

Dashes only are to be used to separate the year, month and day. Slashes (/), periods (.) or spaces shall not be used. The scale indicator of the drawing title block will be noted with the drawings scale.

For schematics or diagrams, the space shall state NONE. For drawings containing more than one scale, the space shall state AS NOTED. For all other scaled drawings the actual drawing scale shall be indicated in the space.

7.3 Drawing Scales

Please refer to the SCALING CHART below for Border Scale Factor for different drawing scales.

The scale shall be stated on all drawings;

A scale bar shall be shown on scale drawings, located above the title block area.

Where more than one scale is used on the same drawing, the scales shall be indicated against the view to which they apply, and the words ‘AS SHOWN’ shall appear in the title block;

Drawing not to scale shall be indicated thus: - N.T.S. in the title block;

All Installation and Plant Layouts shall be drawn to scale;






Isometrics need not be to scale but should be drawn sufficiently in proportion to ensure clarity of any dimensioning;

Wherever possible, the same scale shall be used for all drawings forming a working set.

8.0 TEXT

Drawing text is to remain consistent across all drawing in all disciplines. Without exception, Romans, is the font to be used on all drawings. Text sizes to be utilized are limited to the following:

Text on drawings must be legible if the size of the final hard copy print. Since many clients require reduced sets of drawings, the text size must allow for this.

In case where 0.8 width text will not fit, changing the text width is allowable, within certain limitations. Always consult your CAD Lead before changing text, to ensure consistency on a PROJECT, and at no time use a text width narrower than 0.75. Text ustification is limited to using only “Middle Left”,” Middle Center” and “Middle Right”.

Text style should be one of the following mentioned in the tables above;

The objective is to provide concise information, with uniform letters and figures;

General notes should be grouped together and located in the area above the title block;

If notes referring to a specific item need to be near that item, they should not obscure any other portion of the drawing;

All lettering should be either parallel to the base or right hand side of the drawing sheet;

For Plot Plan all coordinates plant north & equipment no. should be in separate layer. General text and notes should be in one layer;

8.2 Dimensions

Dimensions shall maintain the basic settings indicated below in order maintain consistency across all drawings.

Dimensions shall be consistent on all drawings and should be shown in a clear, orderly fashion. Dimension text shall be shown above the dimension line wherever possible.

Where dimension lines cross object lines, the object line shall be broken in order not to obscure the dimension.

The value of the dimension text shall vary depending upon the scale of the drawing.

9.0 REVISION BLOCKS


This shall be as per the revision philosophy defined in “PROJECT Numbering Procedure”, 5275-PP-581-01-002.

9.1 Revision Numbering

For Revision Numbering refer to “Numbering Procedure”, 5275-PP-581-01-002.

9.2 Revision Cloud

Revision tracking is an integral part of drawings’ life.The revision part of the drawing need to be “Clouded” and to be indicated with the revision triangle with revision number inside. This triangle is to be place at right hand side of the clouded portion.

All revisions must be clouded on the drawing and should have a revision triangle position next to the cloud;

Revision layers provide a history of drawing modification.

The drawing must be saved with all revision layers turn OFF.

9.3 Drawing Sheet Number

All drawing shall have a two-digit sheet number or otherwise specified.

Where only one sheet exists the sheet number shall be 01, where more than one sheet exists the sheets shall be numbered from 01/XX to XX accordingly

9.4 Hatching and Patterning

Patterning is the repeated placement of a hatch line or cell through a closed area at a specified interval (spacing), scale, and angle. You can place patterns on designated Layer.

10.0 UNITS

All CADD drawings shall be in METRIC;

Dimensions shall be in millimeters (mm);

Co-ordinates, levels and survey dimensions shall be in meters (m);

Nominal pipe and valve sizes shall be in inches (inch).

10.1 Units Definition


Units are a means of relating the system's internal measurement of units of resolution (UOR) to measurable units (meters, centimeters, etc.) to meet the needs of the design file;

Units are the coordinate units corresponding to the position and definition of a point in the file;

The Unit dictates the degree of accuracy for placement of elements in a drawing and determines the scale relationship of elements in the file.

10.2 Working Units Format

11.0 LIMITS

12.0 GRIDS

Limits are initially set-up to 1200 X 900 units;


Limits can fit for A4 to A1 size-drawing sheets.

A grid display can be assigned to working units to be used as a design aid. Grid unit is the value for the distance between the grid dots on the screen.

Grid is ON to give reference of drawing limits;

The value of GRID = 6 relates to 10mm = 1cm;

Dot to dot relates to one centimeter.

13.0 DIMENSIONING

Dimension lines shall be drawn in such a manner that they cannot be confused with other subjects;

Points to which the dimension lines relate shall be clearly indicated;

Dimensions that are not to scale shall be noted as “N.T.S.”;

Drafting lines should not cross dimension figure;

Dimension figures shall be written immediately above wherever possible;

Dimension variable controlling the overall size is DIMSCALE and is set to 1;

14.0 REFERENCE DRAWINGS


Shall be listed in the space between Notes and Title Block.

15.0 SECTION DETAILS

Section Titles Section titles shall be identified with letters and referenced to the drawing on which the section was taken. Section titles shall be positioned such that the notation reads in consecutive order starting at the top left-hand corner of the draw.

Details and part views shall be extracted by using a circle or ellipse. Detail notation shall be identified with numbers, allocated such that the notation reads in consecutive order starting at the t consecutive order starting at the top left-hand corner of the drawing.

View headings and titles shall be located under the appropriate view.

Indicates portion of a plan drawing that will be shown in elevation. It shall bear letter designation and refers to the drawing on which the section resides.

A number designation and refers to the drawing on which the detail resides.

16.0 LAYER STRUCTURE

The design area of a CADD design file is composed of layers. These layers are used to separate equipment, types of lines and other drawing details to enable CADD to be a more productive tool. A layer structure table is given below for each type of drawing. However, the user may define additional layers and submit them for approval and addition to layer table.

Layer structures for CADD files must conform to the tables provided in Appendix -“A”.






These layers will be added to the drawing while title block is inserted. See below the tables for reference.

17.0 DO’S AND DON’TS


To ensure maximum productivity from the GASCO CADD systems, the following CADD drafting parameters must be followed:

Do not change the working units;

Do not change Approved title Blocks;

Do not change or explode standard symbol;

At the time of e-submittal, all drawings need to be copied & binding in the submittal folders;

Key Plan shall be placed above the revision description area;

Reference Drawings listed in space between notes and title block;

Draw according to specified layers;

Symbol for North and Wind direction once fixed hence shall be used in all drawings.

Generally CAD data shall be drawn full size and correctly positioned using plant

coordinates. Drawing scales will be achieved at the time of printing. E.g. Scale 1:500 2D CAD Drawing. Draw full size. Insert border as reference file, scaled up by a factor of 500. Plot file by placing a fence around border and plotting it.

Client or 3rd party drawings that used as background should be merged/ bounded into layers.

18.0 ELECTRONIC FILE SUBMITTAL

All electronic files of approved CADD engineering drawings must be submitted to GASCO as per PROJECT Procedures/Requirements.

All electronic files of approved CADD engineering drawings must be submitted to GASCO along with hard copy plots for archiving;

The electronic files must be submitted to COMPANY in the following;

All X-Ref’s should be binding (merged) into the drawings;

CD-ROM.

Note: All files to be virus scanned (using the latest version of anti-virus software) prior to acceptance.
