Bienvenido a la Escuela de Verano de Glenallan 2015 Duelo Bingo
Estimados Padres y Estudiantes:
El propósito del verano Duelo BINGO es animar a los estudiantes a convertirse en aprendices de por vida en lectura, escritura y matemáticas y evitar el "Verano del Olvido" - los niños que leen durante el verano ganan habilidades de lectura, mientras que los que no leen se atrasan más. El Duelo Bingo tiene por objeto proporcionar formas divertidas y atractivas para construir sus habilidades independientes de aprendizaje.
Como Jugar BINGO • El nombre y apellido del estudiante, grado entrando
en el Otoño y el nombre del profesor deben estar escritos al principio del papel del BINGO.
• Hacer todas las actividades de la tarjeta de BINGO. • Un padre o adulto necesita poner sus iniciales en
cada cuadro cuando el estudiante termina esa actividad.
• Luego el estudainte debe colorear ligeramente cada cuadro cuando la actividad se ha completado.
• Gana BINGO al completar 5 cuadros sea horizontal, vertical o diagonal.
• Mantenga un registro de todos los libros que leyó duarnte el verano y anótelo en el diario de lectura.
• Devuélva todas las tarjetas de BINGO de Lectura y Matemáticas que estan completas la primera semana de clases (Agosto 31- Septiembre 5, 2015)
PREMIOS • Todos los estudiantes recibirán un certificado de
participación por cualquier Bingo que ganó en lectura y Matemáticas.
• Por cada Bingo ganado los estudiantes recibirán una tarjeta en el Otoño para entrar en una rifa para la Fiesta de Duelo Bingo de Verano.
• Todos los estudiantes que completaron ambas tarjetas de lectura y Matemáticas estarán invitados automáticamente a la Fiesta de Duelo Bingo de Verano!
Por favor ayude a la Escuela de Glenallan proveyendo apoyo y ánimo a su hijo(a) en lectura, escritura y matemáticas participando en el Duelo Bingo del Verano. Cuántos BINGOS puedes ganar? Atentamente, Personal de Glenallan

Pide a tu mamá o papá que te lea un cuento.
Escribe e ilustra (dibuja) tu propio

Lee afuera.
Ayuda a tus padres a escribir una lista de comida.

Busca objetos en tu hogar para crear un patrón.
Use palitos de helado o plastilina para formar números o formas.
Agarra un punado de galletas y cuenta cuántos tienes.
Practica saltando como una rana. Cuenta de unos, cincos y dieces cuantas saltas.
Escribe el número 8, conviértelo en un dibujo.
Mídete cuan alto eres en pulgadas. Mide a otra persona que sea más alta o más baja que tú. Cuántas pulgadas más alta o más baja eres tú?
Escribe un problema de resta para otro miembro de tu familia.
Escoge un número entre 5-100. ¿Cuántas combinaciones de dos o tres números pueden agregar para llegar a tu número de?
Encuentra dos objetos que tengan diferentes longitudes (un lápiz, crayón, marcador, etc.) Compara la longitud de los dos objetos. ¿Cuál es más largo? ¿Cuál es más corto? Explica tu razonamiento.
Visita un parque infantil, cuenta las diferentes formas que vez.
Juega en encontrar un Tesoro de número en tu hogar. Anota todos los números que encontraste. Cuántos hallaste?

Busca por un punado de monedas (pennies, dimes or nickels) Cuál es el valor de tus monedas?

Rationale:
As teachers, we know the value of time spent reading. Numerous studies have shown that the best way for students to become better readers is to READ! We are all also very familiar with the idea of summer setback, when students regress one or more reading levels over the summer. Many times students return to school in the fall and are assessed far below their spring reading levels. This is most likely due to the fact that students are simply not spending time reading over the summer. Because of these facts, I have created this free resource to encourage students and their parents to read, read, read over the summer. Just 20 minutes a day can make a world of difference! My goal is always to get my students to see the value and enjoyment in reading routinely over the summer! I hope you can use this resource and that your students and parents will find value in committing to reading at least 20 minutes each day over the summer. I would LOVE to know how you are using them in your classroom. I really enjoy reading feedback!!

Dear Parents, As we near the end of the school year I wanted to take a minute to say how proud I am of your daughter! She has grown so much as a reader this year. Each day she has enjoyed spending time reading in school. This time has been so valuable, as it gives your daughter the opportunity to practice reading strategies she has learned throughout the year. I can say without hesitation that the best way to become a better reader is to spend time reading. Because I know this fact to be true, I wanted to encourage your daughter to continue her excellent habit of spending time reading each day while she enjoys her summer. As you can see from the data below, spending just 20 minutes of reading time each day will make a dramatic difference in your daughter’s success in the upcoming school year.
To help encourage your daughter, I have sent home some summer reading logs.
