INTRODUCTIONy W hat is fany W hy human need fany A fan consists of a rotating blades which act

on the air.

y Usually the fan are contained within someform of casing or grill which prevent objectsfrom contacting the fan blades but could notprevent children from placing their fingerthrough the grill.

OBJECTIVETo introduce a new type of fan that

totally differs from the conventional type. The main component of conventional fanis the rotating blades. The blades are asource of danger and it makes the fan

difficult to clean. The idea is to produceair from the fan without having to rely onthe exposed rotating blades and makes itmore user friendly.

BACKGROUNDBLADELESS FAN

y Bladeless fan does have blades (impeller) but it¶snowhere visible and you can nowhere accidentally reachthem.

y In other words, there are no exposed rotating blades onthe bladeless fan.

y  Able to propel air without any use of fan blades.

y W hile it has no exposed fan blades, the base of the bladeless fan contains a DC motor and a mixed flow impeller.

BACKGROUNDy Just like the conventional fans, bladeless fan

requires some degree of air as its input. The air issucked through the tiny holes on the body of thefan.

y Air is dragged in with a motor in the base, propelling it back out via an internal mixed flow impeller and accelerate it through the ring at thetop.

PROBLEM STATEMENT1. Hazardous

Solution : No visible rotating blades

y The main part of the conventional fan is the blades which is the source of danger as their fastrotation could cause mild to severe injuries if notcareful.

y Conventional fan have safety features such as acage around the blades. However, it is stilldangerous especially to children as they tend toplace their finger through the cage.

PROBLEM STATEMENTy Despite, the rotating blade can cause hair to

get entangled for those who have long hair.

y Do not solve here  W ithout the rotating blades, the risk of danger is reduced.

y Potentially harming element isolated alltogether from the outside environment by means of a sturdy protective base.

PROBLEM STATEMENT2. Difficult to clean / maintenance

Solution 1: Design

y The structure and features of the conventional fan consist of acage surrounded around the blades. Dusts are normally getstuck on this parts.

y W ith the weird positioning of the conventional fan¶s bladesand the horrible-to-clean cage, cleaning a conventional fantake ages and unpleasant to do.

y The absence of the caged blade parts makes it very easy toclean.

PROBLEM STATEMENTSolution 2: Simple assembly

y Conventional fan consist of various parts that may need to be disassembled to perform maintenance work.

y Simple assembly would ensure that maintenance work could be performed easily on the fan.

Cleaning is very important because if the fan is fullof dust, less air is produced.

SIGNIFICANCE OF PROJECT

The bladeless fan features:

yDimmer switchyOscillation control

yRechargeable battery

yRemote control

SIGNIFICANCE OF PROJECT

yDimmer switch control

Velocity of air flow can be adjusted with a controlsimilar to a dimmer switch.

yOscillation controlOne touch for 90° oscillation.

SIGNIFICANCE OF PROJECT

yRechargeable battery

Instead of using AC power supply, it can also useDC power supply which is the battery. Hence, itcan be used outside as long as the battery ischarged.

yRemote control

Used for operating the fan wirelessly from adistance up to 3m.
