Introducción ESPAÑOL UNO was created to offer the student a balanced approach to language and culture. Our iBook will enable our students to develop the capability of forming a grammatically simple sentence to a complex one. In addition, students will develop their listening and reading comprehension skills by being exposed to legends, and short stories collected from all parts of the Spanish-speaking world.
Spanish is a Romance language. Its roots are derived primarily from Latin, the language spoken by the Romans. Spanish is spoken by an estimated 350 million people around the world and is currently the fourth most commonly spoken language worldwide.
Geographically, Spanish is the dominant lan-guage spoken in Spain and almost all the countries of Central and South America. It is the official language of Mexico and several of the larger islands in the Carib-bean: Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico.
Knowing Spanish opens the door for you to communi-cate with one third of a billion speakers worldwide!
