Marty Abrams is Executive Director and Chief Strategist at The Information Accountability Foundation. He has over 35 years of experience as an information and consumer policy innovator. Multi-stakeholder collaboration has been a key for Abrams in developing practical solutions to dilemmas in information policy. His most recent work has been on big data governance and privacy compliance driven by demonstrable data stewardship. For the past five years, he has led the Global Accountability Project, which has refined the accountability principle that is part of various data protection laws and guidance documents.

Prior to his work at the foundation, Abrams was the co-founder and President of the Centre for Information Policy Leadership at Hunton & Williams LLP, which he led for 13 years. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Information Policy at Experian and Director of Information Policy at TRW Information Systems, where he designed one of the earliest privacy impact assessment tools. He also chaired their Consumer Advisory Council. Abrams began his consumer policy work at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, where he was Assistant Vice President and Community Affairs Officer. At the Federal Reserve Bank, he drove collaboration by helping banks and the communities they serve find their intersection of self-interest.

Abrams continues to seek practical solutions to assure information driven innovation with personal dignity at The Information Accountability Foundation.

Mr. Avila joined Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. as Vice President, Chief Privacy Officer in October 2012. Mr. Avila is responsible for the worldwide data privacy and records management program for Wal-Mart’s operations involving 11,000 retail locations with more than two million employees in 27 countries, as well as Wal-Mart’s e-commerce websites in ten countries. Mr. Avila previously served as Assistant General Counsel, Chief Privacy Officer of The Walt Disney Company. Mr. Avila initiated the data privacy program at Disney in 2001 and led the development of Disney's enterprise privacy compliance program covering all of Disney's online and offline business activities in the nearly 50 countries in which Disney operates. Mr. Avila has been active in the international data privacy community, having served for five years on the board of directors of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, including serving as President of the IAPP in 2009. Mr. Avila has spoken at numerous conferences on data privacy issues, including conferences of the international data privacy commissioners sponsored by the governments of Spain and Mexico. Mr. Avila is a co-author of Privacy Compliance and Litigation in California (CEB 2013). Mr. Avila served on the advisory committee to the California Office of Privacy Protection on the development of its guidance on California's "Shine the Light" law relating to business' information sharing practices. Mr. Avila began his career as a law clerk to Judge W. Eugene Davis of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Mr. Avila later was an associate with Latham & Watkins, and Litigation Counsel with the CBS television network. Before joining Disney, Mr. Avila served as General Counsel, Chief Privacy Officer of MValue.com, Inc., a venture capital funded Internet Company. Mr. Avila graduated with a B.A. from Yale University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. Professor Ian Brown is Professor of Information Security and Privacy at the Oxford Internet Institute. His research is focused on surveillance, privacy-enhancing technologies, and Internet regulation. He is an ACM Distinguished Scientist and BCS Chartered Fellow, and a member of the Information Commissioner's Technology Reference Panel.

Since 1998 Professor Brown has variously been a trustee of Privacy International, the Open Rights Group, the Open Knowledge Foundation and the Foundation for Information Policy Research and an adviser to Greenpeace, the Refugee Children’s Consortium, Amnesty International and Creative Commons UK. He has consulted for the United Nations, Council of Europe, OECD, US Department of Homeland Security, JP Morgan, Credit Suisse, Allianz, McAfee, BT, the BBC, the European Commission, the Cabinet Office, Ofcom, and the National Audit Office.Professor Brown's work has been covered by the BBC, CNN, CBC, Al Jazeera, and numerous newspapers and magazines. He has written for the Financial Times, Daily Telegraph, New Statesman and Guardian. In 2004 he was voted as one of the 100 most influential people in the development of the Internet in the UK over the previous decade.

He has acted as an expert witness for the English High Court, UK Investigatory Powers Tribunal, and European Court of Human Rights; and given evidence to the UK, German, and European parliaments. As Acxiom’s Privacy Officer for the Americas, Sheila Colclasure is principally responsible for managing the fair information practices compliance, client support and external policy setting of this company.

Laura Juanes serves as a Senior Director for International Privacy within Yahoo!’s Public Policy Group. She is specialized in online privacy matters for the company’s international properties, focusing on emerging markets in Latin America and the Asia-Pacific regions. Her interest in privacy and data protection has grown in step with the increased focus on this issue particularly in emerging markets that see privacy as a critical aspect of successful digital development and trade.

Before joining the Public Policy function, Laura (a Spanish qualified lawyer) has held different positions within Yahoo!’s legal division, both in Yahoo! Adriana serves as Compliance and Privacy Director of Merck & Co, Inc, a global health care company that operates in more than 140 countries. She reports to Hilary Wandall, Associate Vice President, Compliance and Chief Privacy Officer of Merck & Co.

Adriana joined the Merck Privacy Office in 2010 as Policy and Standards Director, and she currently is responsible for leading oversight and monitoring of the Merck Privacy Program across the company (human health pharmaceuticals and vaccines, animal health products and health innovation technologies) in Europe, EMEA and Latin America. She is also responsible for training and communications within the Merck Privacy Office.

Ana Brian Nougrères holds a degree in Law and Social Sciences from the Universidad de la República (Uruguay), and is council advisor at the Uruguayan Parliament, Senate and Chamber of Representatives (since 1992). She teaches at the School of Law, Legal Informatics Chair, and at the School of Engineering, Universidad de Montevideo (since 2014). Legal consultant at the Uruguayan College of Attorneys (since 2003), she is a foundational supporter of the Institute of Computer Law, School of Law, Universidad de la República (Uruguay, 2000), and a member of the Red Iberoamericana de Protección de Datos since its inception in 2003. Member of the Red Académica Internacional de Protección de Datos de Nuevo León since its foundation in 2011, she is now in its Board of Directors.

Her current research interests, studies and publications are focused on data protection and the interconnection between law and new technologies. She takes part of various working groups such as the IWGDPT (Group of Berlin), is a member of the Uruguayan chapter of FIADI, and a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals. She is Ambassador of Privacy by Design since 2011. In 2008 she published “Data Protection in Uruguay”.

Michael Panzera is an attorney in the Office of International Affairs at the United States Federal Trade Commission. He covers bilateral relations and capacity building in consumer protection matters relating to Asia and Latin America, primarily focusing on the following issues: identity theft and data security/privacy; unfair and deceptive advertising and marketing practices; environmental claims; financial practices (including debt collection, mobile payments, pyramid schemes, credit reporting, and credit/debit card chargeback protections); international trade and investment agreements; textiles and care labeling rules; telemarketing scams; and electronic commerce (including children’s online protections, spam, social media and native advertising).

Prior to joining the Federal Trade Commission, he served as senior trial counsel at the Department of Justice, Civil Division, representing the United States in international trade litigation in the Court of International Trade and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, as well as contract disputes involving Federal agencies before the Court of Federal Claims.

He also completed a two-year detail as a Mansfield Fellow in Tokyo, working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy Trade and Industry, and the Tokyo High Court. As a fellow, he attended classes at the Legal Research and Training Institute for judges and prosecutors in Japan, and served as a Visiting Research Scholar at the Graduate School of Law and Politics, The University of Tokyo. In addition, he taught legal writing and oral advocacy as an adjunct professor at the George Washington University Law School from 2004 until 2011.

Andrew Reiskind is the Senior Vice President, Lead Privacy and Data Protection Counsel for MasterCard worldwide, where he has been since 2008. Andrew and his team handle all privacy and data protection issues globally for MasterCard, including implementing privacy by design, managing GLBA and EU Safe Harbor compliance programs, employee privacy, regulatory outreach, records management and information incident response. Andrew previously was the Chief Privacy Officer at Harte-Hanks, a direct marketing services company. He has also worked in the interactive advertising and industrial chemicals industries. The Superintendent of Industry and Commerce obtained his J.D. from the Universidad Externado de Colombia. He is specialized in Civil Litigation and is currently a Master degree candidate in Civil and State Contractual Liability and Breach of Statutory Duty from the same university.

During the first two years (2002-2010) of govern of the President Juan Manuel Santos Calderon, the Superintendent served as Deputy Minister of Justice and Law, and Deputy Minister for Promotion of Justice. He also acted as Deputy Minister for Criminal and Restorative Justice Policy (In charge), Minister of Justice and Law (In charge), and Director of the National Defense Agency for State Law (In charge).

He is recognized as a the promoter of recent high impact laws, such as the General Code of Procedure, the National and International Arbitration Statute and the Administrative Procedure and Administrative Dispute Code.

He has a long academic career, where he has performed as Professor of the Universidad Externado de Colombia and Universidad de los Andes in the areas of litigation and intellectual property. Mr. Robledo practiced Intellectual Property Rights for over 15 years in different areas, but He has dedicated time enough to become a truly expert in Plant Breeder Rights.

He is a Member of the Colombian Institute of Procedural and Trade Law, of the Bar Association and of the Panel of Arbitrators of the Arbitration and Conciliation Center of the Chambers of Commerce of Bogota and Pereira.

On October 2, 2012 the President of the Republic of Colombia, Mr. Juan Manuel Santos Calderón, appointed him as Superintendent of Industry and Commerce.

Mr. Rodríguez has an under graduate Degree in Law and is a teacher of Constitutional Law from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

He has several post-graduate degrees from Heidelberg University (Germany) and has been a visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute for three years.

He has been coordinator at the European Study area of the Instituto Universitario Ortega y Gasset, and General Director at the Fundación Democracia y Derecho Local. In April 2004 he was appointed Director at the State Secretary Cabinet of Relations with the Courts, and afterward, General Director of Legal Coordination at the Ministry of the Presidency. Since February 2009 until June 2011 he was Director of the Cabinet of the Ministry of Justice. Since 2011 he is the Director of the Spanish Data Protection Agency.

Felipe Rotondo holds a degree in Law and Social Sciences, and one in Diplomacy from Universidad de la República Oriental de Uruguay. He also has a Post-Graduate Degree in Public Administration Management from the National Institute of Public Administration from Spain, and an Academic Validation in Administrative Law from the Law Faculty at the Universidad de la República. He is also a professor of Public Law II-III (Administrative) in said Faculty and Director of the Instituto de Derecho Administrativo.

Mr. Rotondo is also a teacher at the LLM of Universidad de Montevideo (Administrative Responsibility and Administrative Organization); a professor of the Master in Policy and Public Management of the National Office of Civil Service, and Director of the Administrative Law Yearbook.

In addition, Mr. Rotondo is a member of the Latin-American Administrative Law Forum. He was in the Council of the Law Faculty of Universidad de la República, from 2002-2005, and in the Consultive Council of Private Education between 2005-2008, and 2010-2011. As head of HP’s privacy and information management efforts, Scott Taylor is responsible for global privacy and information management strategy, policy, governance, and operations.

In this role, he is a member of HP’s Compliance Council, Cyber Security Council, Global Citizenship/Human Rights Committee, and chairs HP’s Privacy & Data Protection Governance Board. Taylor and his team work with HP business groups, regions and corporate functions to assure the implementation of HP's Privacy and Information Management policies and programs and integrate privacy into product and services development across the company.

He serves as HP’s global privacy representative with governments, external policy makers, media, NGOs and customers. Taylor is actively involved in global initiatives to advance stronger protections for consumer privacy. He serves as Chairman of the Board of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and Vice Chairman of the Board for The Foundation for Information Accountability.

Taylor has been with HP for 25 years. Previously he launched and led HP’s global Internet program. In that role, he and his team handled Internet strategy, customer experience, e-business policies, standards, worldwide site management, and operations. Prior to that, Taylor was responsible for HP’s direct marketing function, part of the Corporate Marketing & International Services Organization.
