RISE OBJECTIVES

RISE OBJECTIVES

The RISE scheme promotes international and cross-sector collaboration through exchanging research and innovation staff, and sharing knowledge and ideas from research to market (and vice-versa). RISE involves organisations from the academic and non-academic sectors (in particular SMEs), based in Europe (EU Member States and Horizon 2020 Associated Countries) and outside Europe.

RISE SCOPE

Support is provided for the development of partnerships in the form of a joint research and innovation project. This is a imed at knowledge sharing via international as well as intersectoral mobility, based on secondments of research and innovation staff (exchanges) with an in-built return mechanism. Secondments shall always take place between legal entities independent from each other.

TYPE OF SECONDMENTS

(academic & non-academic sectors)

•  Unit cost: Each eligible secondment month generates an income for the project of €4600. - €2100 top-up allowance for researcher "Part A" - €1800 research training and networking cost "Part B" - € 700 management and indirect cost "Part B"

•  Each beneficiary will report and claim unit cost for staff it sends on secondment (+ staff received from 3rd country partners). All calculations are automatic based on researcher declarations.

•  How part B (€1800+€700) is spent and distributed among beneficiaries/partners is not determined. Each project is free to decide how to use this contribution to do the project.

Objective: to maximise the benefits associated with diving while minimising its negative impacts, thus achieving the environmental, economic and social sustainability of the system. This will be done by: 1) Carefully assessing and modelling the system itself; 2) Developing innovative products based on the issues and needs highlighted by assessment and modelling; 3) Promoting the uptake of such products by the system designing tailored business models and marketing plans. Direct engagement with selected stakeholders (divers, professionals, diving operators, certification agencies - CAs, MPAs, NGOs) will ensure relevant feedback throughout the project’s lifetime, as well as effective uptake of results at the end of the project.
