Gabriel Portolés nació en Jaca en 1930 y a los 12 años ingresó en la Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Barcelona. A los 16 años comenzó a trabajar sin dejar su inclinación artística, pintando al óleo y la acuarela durante sus días festivos. Años más tarde regresó a la Escuela de Artes y Oficios para recibir clases de dibujo. Aprendió con posterioridad la técnica de la témpera al huevo sobre tabla, en la que encontró el mejor vehículo para su expresión artística. Posee un estilo único que se caracteriza por el uso de formas geométricas, ángulos, misteriosas mujeres de rostros inclinados, todo lo cual nos recuerda las vidrieras de las catedrales. Comenzó su actividad expositiva en 1960, mostrando desde entonces sus creaciones en diversos lugares de España, Estados Unidos, Alemania y Francia.

Portolés Gabriel was born in Jaca in 1930 and at age 12 entered the School of Arts and Crafts in Barcelona. At age 16 he began working without leaving your artistic bent, painting in oils and watercolors during their holidays. Years later he returned to the School of Arts and Crafts for drawing classes.
