BULLETIN ADVERTISMENTS 1-800-231-0805
"BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD".
Today's feast has two names, reflecting the unusual fact that two Gospel passages are pro-claimed at today’s Mass. From the Gospel passage proclaimed at the start of Mass comes the name “Palm Sunday”. This name reflects the seeming glory shown Jesus as He rode into the royal city of Jerusalem. Jesus seemed to be a king. He seemed to enter the city to bring liberation. The palm branches were waved with confidence, with cries of “Hosanna to the Son of David!” But from the Gospel passage proclaimed after the Second Reading comes the name “Passion Sunday” for today’s feast. This long passage reveals the descent from “Hosanna!” to “Crucify him!” This long passage reveals the fickleness of sinful man, and the long-suffering patience of the God-man.
St. Thomas Aquinas speaks to Jesus’ patience throughout this long Gospel passage. “The passion of Christ”, St. Thomas notes, “completely suffices to fashion our lives.” “If you seek patience, you will find no better example than the Cross,” St. Thomas continues. “Great patience occurs in two ways: either when one patiently suffers much, or when one suffers things which one is able to avoid and yet does not”.
Of course, it’s not fashionable today to bear with suffering patiently, much less seek meaning in it. Only grace can make us strong enough to embrace the Cross for what it is. Only grace can strengthen us to bear our own crosses with patience: to suffer in order to find liberation from the power of sin and death over us.
Let us start the Holy Week with an open heart to receive Jesus our salvation. Let us participate in our different activities of the Great and Holy Week at our parish. Kind-ly, check the bulletin for our service schedule.
A "¡Crucifícalo!"

Divine Mercy Sunday, April 8th The Second Sunday of Easter! Don’t miss this divine opportunity!
Jesus promised St. Faustina that on Divine Mercy Sunday “The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion
shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishments.”
Let’s start with a good resolution to do the very best that we can to help Jesus save every soul possible. Let’s do everything within our power to alleviate the pain and sorrow that He experiences when souls are lost. Let’s focus on reaching out to poor
sinners, those Easter-only and fallen-away Catholics, the “fainting souls”. Please come and invite family and friends to the Feast of Mercy, Sunday, April 8th:
♦ The Chaplet will be said after all the Masses on Divine Mercy Sunday ♦ Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament after the 10:30am Mass until 3pm followed by the Chap-
let, Benediction, and Church Procession with the Image of Divine Mercy ♦ Confessions may be done 20 days before or after Divine Mercy Sunday
For more details and information, visit our table display in the Church vestibule.
