VISUALIZATION SYSTEM
One of the main problems of this type of equipments
is the big quantity of information that they can provide(more than 150 variables), it means a great
visualization complexity when we try to accede by
means of a display with limited dimensions.
Answering this problem the CIRWATT has a system
of configurable screens that have been implemented
allowing us to work exclusively with the information
that we believe necessary. Therefore, it exists the
possibility to choose the following elements:
• Screen: It concerns to all the information that can
appear in a simultaneous way in the display. Actually,
it is possible to choose the variable and the text to
show in each line, as well as the activation or not of
different functions of the visualization (intermittence,
rotary, etc.)
• Group: It consists on a logical grouping of screens, for example we can have a group of screens with
information concerning to energy, or the value of
maximum demand, etc.
The equipment has a PC software that allows to
program in an easy and quick way the whole
visualization system. It can also be pre-programmed
by the manufacturer under customer request.

CONTROL SYSTEM OF TARIFFS
We can program two complete annual calendars in
the equipment, so that we facilitate the transition from
one year to the following one without appearing
undefined tariff periods.
Tariff operation system
Nine energy accumulators exist, one for each tariff,
as well as another for the total accumulation. Each
second the system checks which it is the active tariff
in that moment and it accumulates the energy of that
period in its particular meter, as well as it adds this
value to the general.

the maximum power that has been consumed and in
which instant for each one of the nine tariffs. This
values are initialized every time that a closing of
invoicing takes place.
We can configure the following parameters:
• Magnitude reference: It shows us if the
equipment will calculate the maximum demand
based on the active power or on the apparent one.
• Time of registration: It is the period of measureintegration until obtaining a maximum value.
• Calculation mode: It allows us to choose the form
of calculation, either in block way or with a moving
window.
• Synchronism mode: With this optin we cancontrol if the periods of integration are synchronized

In the closing of invoicing we can configure four
operation types that can work in a simultaneous way:
• Manual: Once the seal of the upper cover of the
equipment is removed, we have access to a button
without seal that once pressed, the closing of
invoicing whole process starts. In the display a textone appears indicating the process and the current
hour
• Automatic: Once a day, hour and minute is
programmed, the equipment revises each second this
period. When it detects that a coincidence exists with
its internal clock, it starts automatically a closing of
invoicing
• Via communications: It is also possible to
produce a closing of invoicing in a remotely by means
of a command of communications
• Digital input: Finally we have the option of
selecting one of the digital inputs to be able to cause
a closing
A closing of invoicing supposes the following
processes:
• Register of the absolute and incremental totals for
each tariff in the tariffication file
• Setting to zero the incremental totals of each tariff
• Register in the file of the maximum demand valueand the instant in which it has taken place for each
one of the tariffs.
• Initialization of the maximum demand value when

DATA STORAGE
Data are organized in three file types. Each one has
a memory area exclusively, so that each one of thosememory areas can be used only to keep data of the
associate file:
• Register of load profiles: Energy consumptions
are registered periodically.
• Tariffication register: All readings of the meters
are registered at the time of doing an invoicing
closing. This registration is only carried out for the
consumed energy (2 quadrants).
• Registration of events: All dates when setup ismodified are registered as well as battery
replacements, time changes and invoicing closings,
etc.
The organization of data in each one of the files is
revolving. This means that as soon as the memory is
full, the new data are saved above the oldest one.
This system assures that the counter always has
information up-to-date and that belong to the last
obtained data.

communication point to point in short distances or in
remote communications through a telephonic modem,
and RS-485 is used when a multi-point connection is
needed with distances up to 1200 m.
Some of the protocols of communications that can
be implemented in the meter are the following ones:
• IEC 870-5-102: For data extraction
• MODBUS-RTU: For the configuration and the
readings of the meter
• ZMODEM: Exclusively for the extraction of the files
• IEC 61107: To program the equipment and to
extract the files
