On October 19th, 2015 the California Air Resource Board (CARB) issued an Executive Order that approved the use by ocean going vessels of the Advanced Maritime Emission Control System (AMECS) technology as an alternative to shore power under CARB’s “At Berth Regulation”. Prior to receiving this approval the AMECS technology was tested for more than 1,500 hours on over 70 vessels. AMECS captures and removes airborne emissions from auxiliary engines and boilers of ocean going vessels at berth or at anchor. No modification of the vessel is required and since AMECS is a water side operation there is no impact on loading or offloading operations. The AMECS system has been independently verified to reduce the following air pollution components: PM …………………………………………………………………….................................................. ............................... 97.5% NOx …………………………………………………………………….................................................. ............................. 99.0 % SO2 ……………………………………………………………….................................................... ................................. 98.5% VOCs …………………………………............................................................... .................................................. 99.5% Key Benefits and Information: •The manufacture and operation of AMECS units is capable of creating hundreds of good paying union jobs. •AMECS does not require ANY costly ship modifications. •AMECS does not require ANY shore side infrastructure. •AMECS can handle multiple exhaust ports at the same time. •Barge‐based system provides universal availability and is independent of the power grid. •AMECS can be deployed rapidly. •AMECS does not expose ships and operators to ever‐increasing power rates and power grid instability. •AMECS does not produce any waste product.

The AMECS system has been independently verified to reduce the following air pollution components:

PM ……………………………………………………………………................................................................................. 97.5%NOx ……………………………………………………………………............................................................................... 99.0 %SO2 ………………………………………………………………..................................................................................... 98.5%VOCs …………………………………................................................................................................................. 99.5%

Key Benefits and Information:

•The manufacture and operation of AMECS units is capable of creating hundreds of good paying union jobs. •AMECS does not require ANY costly ship modifications.•AMECS does not require ANY shore side infrastructure.•AMECS can handle multiple exhaust ports at the same time.•Barge based system provides universal availability and is‐independent of the power grid.•AMECS can be deployed rapidly.•AMECS does not expose ships and operators to ever‐increasing power rates and power grid instability.•AMECS does not produce any waste product.
