COLIMAEl nombre de Colima proviene de la palabra náhuatl“Colliman”: Colli, significa cerro, volcán o abuelo y Maitl, mano o dominio, es decir: “Lugar donde domina el Dios viejo o Dios del fuego”, refiriéndose al volcán.

Uno de los mayores atractivos de Colima es la benignidad de su clima ya que se ve influenciado en gran manera por su relieve montañoso, el cual cubre el oes-te, el norte y la parte este de la entidad. En la zona costera el clima es cálido y húmedo, mientras que en la parte alta es templado y cálido en la zona sur.

The name of Colima comes from náhuatl word”Colliman”: Colli, it means hill, volcano or grandfather and Maitl, hand or domain, that is “ Place where dominates the old God or God of fire “, referring the volcano.

One of the biggest attractions of Colima is the benignity of its climate that is greatly influenced by its mountainous relief, which covers the west, northern and east part of the State. In the coastal area the weather is hot and wet, while in highest part is tempered and warm in the south zone.
