From the Pastor’s Desk Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

WE RENEW OUR CHURCH WHEN WE DISCERN OUR DIRECTION WISELY.

Last Sunday, the Church asked us to consider supporting its foreign Missionary efforts. This mission is a call for all of us to help spread to the world the Good News of our Salvation through Jesus Christ.

On this Sunday, I am asking each of us to become Missionary Disciples. This term has been used by Pope Francis. It is a call for each of us to remember that we are the instruments through which the saving message of Jesus is shown to the world, our putting our faith into practice in our daily lives is the best and only way to ensure that our world will be one in which peace and harmony among and between all people will be achieved.

It is not necessary to go to a foreign country. To be a Missionary Disciple, it can be as simple and challenging as trying to live out the following:

1. Start the day with prayer, your Bible, and a talk with your Mother –(or someone who is like a mother or role model for you).2. Smile, Use your Manners, Be kind, Give out hugs.3. Go on Social Media (i.e., communicate!), call a friend, visit a friend.4. Tell someone you love them and why!5. Talk about God.6. Sacrifice something.7. Serve in some way.8. Reflect on your day

These were taken from the article: “8 Things Every Catholic Should Be Doing Every Day” written by Becky Roach and published in Faith & Life on 02/26/2016.

A Prayer For “Renew My Church”

Lord Jesus, you speak to us today, as you spoke to holy men and women

who have gone before us.In every age and in our own time,

you call to us and say: Renew My Church.

Pour out the gift of your Holy Spirit upon us, and so enable us to hear you clearly

to listen to each other attentively to imagine our future boldly

to discern your direction wisely to persevere in your holy will courageously

to stay together in charity to surrender our own plans readily

to embrace the greater goodto hand on your gifts to future generations.

May we remain in the holy company of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the apostles, and all the saints.

May their example and presence inspire us with patient confidence

in the work of your grace.

We ask this of you who live and reign with the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God,

forever and ever. Amen

Przejdź do mediów społecznościowych (tj., Komunikuj się!), Zadzwoń do znajome go, odwiedź znajomego4. Powiedz komuś, kogo kochasz i dlaczego!5.

FOOD OF THE MONTH CLUB

The really cold weather is just around the corner, and it’s time for some hot and hearty meals, which will, of course, include a serving of our favorite vegetables. So, during the month of

November, we are asking for your help with donations of the following food items.

ANY TYPE OF CANNED VEGETABLES

Please check your donations to make sure that none of the items are expired, as we are not able to use these in our

Your donations can be placed in the box located in the vestibule of the church when you come to Mass, or they can be taken to the

Rectory during normal business hours.

Please take this opportunity to help all the needy families in our parish. Thank you for your donations and may God

Bless You for your generosity.

Protecting God’s Children How Important Is Compliance?

News from around the country reminds us how important it is that EVERYONE be in compliance and understand their role in keeping children safe. Whether a person is a volunteer or employee, full or part time, cleric or lay knowing and following ALL archdiocesan policies are critical. Recently an archdiocese was

made to pay out several million dollars because of abuse at the hands of a volunteer catechist. People at the parish failed to recognize and to respond to

many of the warning signs that he was abusing children.

All of us are responsible for recognizing, responding and reporting the warning signs o abuse. All of us working together can keep children safe.

September’s Parish Expenses

Our Savior Jesus Christ destroyed death and brought life to light through the Gospel.

We Are One Family, Encircled by God’s Love!

Saint Turibius Parish

Parish Mission Statement

We Believe that God is Love, and when we live in love we live in God and God lives in

us! Therefore we, the Parish Family of Saint Turibius, dedicate ourselves to living out

Christ’s Great Commandment: we will love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength, and we will show our love for God

by the way we love and care for one another. To this end, we will respond to our baptismal

call, strengthened by the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and empowered by

the Holy Spirit. As a Family of Faith that has an Attitude of Gratitude for the gifts God has given to us, we will share our time, our talent

and our treasure with each other. We welcome into our parish family all people, because we

believe that together we are the Body of Christ and together we can bring the love, peace,

forgiveness, healing, and joy of Christ into our community in ways we never could have if we were to remain apart. May all who meet us, who worship with us, who work and play with

us, know we are Christians by our love!
