Do Alentejo para o mundo, a obra de António Zambujo foi elogiada nos quatro cantos do globo, louvada, por exemplo, no Brasil (com apoiantes tão ilustres quanto Caetano Veloso ou Jô Soares) ou nos Estados Unidos (onde contou com rasgados aplausos do incontornável The New York Times).
‘Quinto’ is the fadista’s first recording venture, which went straight to 2nd place on the national chart, after topping on iTunes. From the Alentejo to the world, António Zambujo’s work was praised in the four corners of the globe, for example in Brazil (with renown supporters such as Caetano Veloso or Jô Soares) and in the United States (where he received a roaring review by The New York Times).

Conhecido por interpretar baladas clássicas, Pizzarelli tem nas suas influências nomes como Nat King Cole ou Frank Sinatra. Considerado um dos revivalistas do Great American Songbook, o músico americano tem mais de 40 álbuns editados, sendo o mais recente, “Double Exposure”, de 2012.
This show presents the guitarist Pizzarelli’s cool jazz to the Portuguese public. Known for his classic ballads, Pizzarelli was influenced by such artists as Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra. Considered as one of the Great American Songbook revivalists, this American musician has over 40 albums, more recently ‘Double Exposure’ of 2012.

A editora Abysmo lançou o desafio a 40 ilustradores – de José Brandão a Henrique Cayatte, de Catarina Valadas a Gémeo Luís, de João Maio Pinto a Pedro Nora, de Pedro Proença a Teresa Lima, de João Fazenda a André Carrilho, enfim várias gerações, diversas origens e todos os estilos – para iluminarem algumas melodias de Sérgio Godinho que marcaram os nossos dias. O resultado foi um álbum, declinado em exposição com impressões fine art das diferentes interpretações.
The publishing house Abysmo challenged 40 illustrators – José Brandão, Henrique Cayatte, Catarina Valadas, Gémeo Luís, João Maio Pinto, Pedro Nora, Pedro Proença, Teresa Lima, João Fazenda, André Carrilho, and others from various generations, backgrounds and styles – to complement some of the most memorable songs by Sérgio Godinho. This resulted in an album and an exhibition with fine art prints of the various interpretations.

O Centro Histórico da cidade de Loulé transforma-se, pela décima vez, num palco de experiências culturais, de fusão de sons e sabores do mundo, e das mais variadas manifestações artísticas. O certame, composto por grandes nomes da world music nacional e internacional, vai este ano ser uma vez mais, talvez o melhor cartaz turístico do Algarve na área da música.
Loulé’s Historic Centre will be transformed, for the tenth time, into a stage of cultural experiences, merging sounds and flavours from all over the world, and various artistic expressions. Once again, this event featuring renown world music artists from Portugal and abroad might be the best tourist attraction in the Algarve of its kind.
O desfile das Marchas Populares é um dos mais típicos e característicos eventos culturais da cidade de Quarteira. Os Santos Populares de Quarteira atraem à marginal um mar de gente, que aprecia os trajes, as músicas e as coreografias dos grupos participantes.
The parades are one of Quarteira’s most traditional cultural events. The ‘Santos Populares’ (‘Popular Saints’) in Quarteira attract big crowds to the seafront who wish to admire the participants’ costumes, the music and the choreographies.

“Música” é o tema da 11.ª edição do Festival, que apresenta em areia cenas representativas da sua expressão em vários povos, da sua evolução e de vários géneros musicais, que vão desde o rock, à música tradicional e à clássica, dança ou mesmo à expressão religiosa.
‘Music’ is the theme of the 11th edition of the Festival, with scenes representing the musical expression of various peoples, its evolution and various music genres, from rock to traditional and classical music, but also dance and religion.
Da mesma forma que o bater das asas de uma borboleta em Tóquio pode provocar um furacão em Nova Iorque, também a presença de cada espetador se reflete em cada apresentação de Luís de Matos «Chaos». Uma jornada inesquecível, plena de interação e mistério, repleta de feitos inexplicáveis que perduram na memória de cada espetador que os vive.
Just as a butterfly beating its wings in Tokyo can cause a hurricane in New York, the presence of each spectator influences the performance of Luís de Matos’ ‘Chaos’. Esta é uma das maiores e mais míticas concentrações motards em toda a Europa, onde todos os anos centenas de motociclistas, nacionais e internacionais, rumam a Faro para quatro dias de grandes concertos e muita animação.
This is one of the biggest and most mythical motorbike meets in the whole of Europe. Every year hundreds of motorbikers from Portugal and abroad head down to Faro for four days of great concerts and lots of entertainment.
